The L9plus is another mid-ranger from the stables of Tecno Mobile. With a better looking all metal design, upgraded specs, and the latest software, the L9PLUS does a fantastic job of massively improving on its predecessor and providing​competition to the infinix note series.

Design; Metal unibody, 7.9mm thin, 185g, 6inch HAD display, without a doubt a huge improvement on the L8plus

Display; 6inch IPS HD display. Color reproduction is good.

Performance and storage; The L9plus is powered by mediaTek MT6580 quadcore Processor with a Mali T400 GPU. 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM which is expandable via micro SD. This is sufficient for multi tasking and HD gaming.

Fingerprint scanner; very fast and accurate. Performs only the function of unlocking the L9plus from sleep mode.

Camera; The rear camera is 13mp camera with a single led flash while the selfie camera is 5mp with flash as well. The both take decent photos outdoor and the led flash helps provide adequate light for indoor photography.

Battery; Saving the best for last. This is what the L9plus is about. This is it's USP and saying that I'm impressed with the battery life is an understatement. I kid you not I've charged it ONLY 3times(I was counting) The L9plus has been my daily driver for almost a week and I can't make this up; the L9plus can lasts for 2days of heavy use. You can get the advertised 72hours if you are a moderate user.


Verdict; It does what it’s advertised to do and it does it well. True, it won’t satisfy everybody, but if you are in the market for a smartphone with a good design, massive battery, large and impressive display, good performance, a decent camera that won’t make you look out of place on social media, then the Tecno L9plus should be your next smartphone.

When will this phone tempered glass be out, av bn searching for it since I av bought it last week but haven't bn able to lay my hands on one.

Firstly, it was very short and brief; which is good for those who just want a little 'go-ahead' in their decisions to buy the device. Although,This, in implication, means that it did not provide in depth analysis of the device, which could have a turning point for those who are still on the fence about buying the phone.

Several major features were omitted. You did talk about the processor, but, you weren't as explicit; How was general usage? did you experience any lag anywhere in the OS? what does official benchmarks say about the device's processor? You also did not discuss media, gaming, calls and messaging. All those could have informed every potential Tecno customer better.

Lastly, The review is a bit sentimental. I understand that you're a big fan of Tecno L series, but it could have been better if you had not shown your love for them in the review. Sentiments made you play down on the phone's flaws; which might be a bit of trickery to those who want to buy the device. Reviews are meant to analyse, unbiasedly, the strengths and weaknesses of the device.

Really, you've put up a good review, but it could be way better.

Got a less than a week device for sale.

I love the phone, it has cool spec but the absence of 4g Lte murdered my love for the phone.

Tecno should keep rebranding the same thing for us and only changing the Android version, they should continue when the thing go bounce back on them it won't be funny.

I will pay 103K for this wack phone! I rebuke it, the phone no even use any means better the phone am using and the different in price is up to 70K. TECNO WHY.

even my samsung galaxy S4 beats this phone hands down.
keep wondering when most of the Chinese phone manufacturers scrap those their "MTK" processors, add more sensors(thermometer, Barometer, Air gesture, etc)
Truth is, only people who are fans of big screen, loud speakers and big front cameras go for Tecno.
Mind you, Samsung lunched the Galaxy S4 in 2013...
