A pastor and his followers spent the day at Embu mortuary in Nairobi praying with the hope that his wife will resurrect.

Pastor Robinson Githumba, 40, of Eagle Prophetic Church camped at the Gakwegori funeral from 8 am for the mission.

With bibles, they prayed enthusiastically, singing and shouting at the top of their voices expecting a miracle.

They intend to resurrect Polly Kagendo, 38, who died of TB on Sunday.

Githumba insisted that his wife was not dead but only resting and would resurrect on the fourth day like the biblical Lazarus.

The pastor traveled from Rwika Village, Mbeere South sub-county with his followers.

He asked the mortuary attendants to remove his wife's body and put it in an open place for the prayers.

Drenched in sweat, they continued until 5pm when the attendants sought to return the body as they were to close for the day.

The pastor and his team did not allow the press to enter the mortuary, only speaking to members of the media outside.

He said his wife fell sick and was rushed to Mwea hospital where she passed way. He carried for her clothes to put in case she rose.

She was later transferred to the funeral home for preservation.

Githumba said he believes his wife, 'whom he loved so much', will rise again.

"That is why we are praying for her resurrection. We know God is the most powerful being."

"I know she will be visited after three days the way Jesus visited Lazarus and woke him up from the dead," he said.

"I know this will also happen to my wife," Githumba, a father of four, said.

The woman is set to be buried on Saturday. But with the current development, the plan is likely to change.

His faith is great shaa..
Its not easy to overcome the acceptance that a loved one is gone.. I understand him. Miracles do happen all the same.

This is exactly why religion thrives, the inability to accept reality for what it is and the self-deceit that follows after. I am very sorry for his loss and i believe this is just a way of grieving.

Hehehehehehehehe

another proof that Christianity promises are Hogwash

And Jesus answered and said to them, “Truly I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, `Be taken up and cast into the sea,’ it will happen. “And all things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.” (Matthew 21:21-22)

Again I say to you, that if two of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask, it shall be done for them by My Father who is in heaven. For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst. (Matthew 18:19-20)

Amen, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it shall be done for him. Therefore I tell you, all that you ask for in prayer, believe that you will receive it and it shall be yours. (Mark 11:24-25)

And whatever you ask in my name, I will do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything of me in my name, I will do it. (John 14:13-14)

With all these passages claiming that if you have even the smallest amount of faith (Matthew 17:20 For truly, I say to you, if you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move; and nothing will be impossible to you.) then whatever you ask for in prayer will be granted, there are obviously only a few options available.

1) the Bible is wrong, Jesus never said these things

2) the Bible is right, Jesus said these things but Jesus was wrong

3) the Bible is right, Jesus said these things but Jesus lied

4) no one who prayed for anything that actually required god's intervention had any faith

5) the Bible is just a collection of myths & fables & Yahweh, Jesus, Holy Spirit, Satan doesn't exist

this Maybe his first time doing it. I have done it before

But did he actually heard from God? If answer is NO, the he can hardly summon God on issue like this.

The wife may likely be in perfect resting place, but wanted to bring her back to world suffering,

I prefer praying for Kids and infact to be bought back to life.

This one happened in my village just 2 weeks ago.
The young man has not even been buried yet.

He climbed an electric pole to reconnect light and was electrocuted.
According to witnesses, they took him to a local mortuary. About an hour later, the mortuary called to say that his hands were twitching and that he may still be alive ,and possibly revived if taken to a good hospital as soon as possible.

Guess what happened next ? undecided

The family, rather than rush him to a good hospital, they called their pastor, who instructed them to bring the man to the Church for an all night prayers and vigil. This they did.

Again, according to witnesses, the body was still twitching for most of the night until about 2am when it finally stopped.

The stupidity of religion can never overstated.

What makes you think that he didn't pray for her to be healed of the TB and when that failed he escalated to raising her from the dead?
Like I said, nothing fails like prayers.

Na you talk say you don see 1 million people whose prayer was answered and vice-versa,

Why you come dey change your mouth now cheesy cheesy

if memory serves me right below was my full post

There are stories of people praying to the Christian God and being healed.

There are stories of people praying to non-Christian gods and being healed.

There are stories of people praying to no gods and being healed.

There are stories of members of all three categories who are not healed.

How do we figure out if anything is going on except confirmation bias? We find people who are sick, we have some prayed for and some not, and we see if there is a different recovery rate. The Templeton Foundation - a group inclined to believe that prayer is effective - ran exactly that experiment and found no difference.

I can go on a limb and say You don't have millions of answered prayers; you have millions of people who're determined to believe that their prayers were answered. Big difference.

Now this is scientific, explanation, with 3 variables, and each can be turn the other way round.
But the final answer or result can be accepted base on individual experiment (i.e. experience)

That a Logic or method worked for me and doesnt work always in every way,
And that same Logic or method never worked for you...
It doesnt rendered it invalid

I have prayed and seeing it happening within three days, and I have Prayer and still expecting the results

People will see him as a man who speaks to god and his church will become full

People will pay tithes willingly and female church members will fight to sleep with the "man of god"

Try to use your intellect please, dont be so eager to cast aspersion at Christianity. Even scientist will give excuse for failed experiment.

Faith and Experiment what are the differences between the two? what underscore them is TESTING

AIDS/HIV Cure
There haven't been cure for AIDS but there have been treatments for the management of HIV. (hope you know the difference between the two pathologically).

Atleast, that's a good headstart to science.
Moreover, science never claimed to have the cure so I see no reason why you say their EXPERIMENTS failed.
But come to think of of it, most advancement we have today is as a result of numerous TRIED EXPERIMENTS and not FAILED EXPERIMENTS.

Finding cure for Cancer

Now Mr GoodMuyis, I'd be tempted to believe you aint aware that science has advanced drastically. Most cancers most especially Leukemia & Lymphomas can be cured by the use of Antineoplastic agents.
More also, Radiological mean have been used to kill and destroy cancerous cells....
Google will help you on that.

NASA finding God
That's foolishness because the imaginary god they try find never exist.
I think I Ve to borrow the Pantheistic definition of God in this scenario. Humans are god. God is human

Have scientists give up on the above
Science have never given up. More discoveries and advancement still awaits us and future generations unlike Religion
Google is your friend, from there you can choose a website that you think is credible cheesy
I need no Google because all you mentioned above are still within my field of study. So am too damn sure (100%) all my responses
