Alhamdulillah, that Allah has placed the light of Islam in your heart and we hope you will continue to increase in this light in shaa Allah.

For your question on who to meet, you can contact the nearest mosque to you wherever they based their rulings on the Qur'an and authentic traditions of the Prophet Salallahu alayhi wasalam. You should make sound Muslims your best friends as our friends may influence us.

On how to break the news to your Parent, its clear they would find out sooner or later but you have to increase in your goodness to them. Islam emphasises being extremely good to our parents even if they are non-Muslims. The only time when we are permitted to disobey them is when they want us to go against Allah and His Prophet. And this disobedience must be done constructively not destructively.

You need to increase in your supplication for them. Allah would soften their heart.

Islam is about knowledge. You learn and learn.... So you need to have a place to learn the religion. May Allah guide you and all who walk in the path of Islam till the day of Resurrection. Aamin

Alhamdulilah, I congratulate you on this decision you are about to make, may Allah continue to guide and protect you on this journey.

You are Catholic that means you are probably from the East right?

I am happy that you intend to learn more about the Qur'an and the life of the Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him), that is indeed a brilliant start. Although I don't think that should delay your shahadah, but it is your choice either ways.

Like a brother had suggested earlier, you may tarry a while before informing your parents, you would need Muslims around you to help you with some challenges you may face after informing them of your decision. Your location also matters too, so people may recommend those you may need to meet and discuss more on and about Islam.

Since you are also reading about the Prophet (SAW), I would recommend this book (if you don't have it already), Life of Muhammed (PBUH) by Muhammad Husayn Haykal, you can download here
