lawyers and activists in the house help me judge this matter. Do police have any right to stop a peaceful protest.
Kogi State university and other state owned tertiary institutions have been closed down for the past two months due to non-payment of salary .
The SUG of Kogi State university wrote a letter to the police seeking for security coverage on the day of protest, the letter was approved on 29th of March by the police commissioner. As at 30th of March, the police commissioner denied that he did not give them license to protest after signing the letter that was presented to him.
Do police have any right to stop a peaceful protest .
