The Paediatrics Association of Nigeria has given a N250 prize to the best graduating student in Paediatrics at University of Portharcourt Two Hundred And Fifty Naira?? Less than $1 *speechless*

I have read the BBN prize is N25 Million, a brand new car and a recording contract.

However, no companies can see the value in giving a decent prize to a medical student who will impact lives? Not even a brand new lab coat, stethoscope, first aid kit, medical books etc??

N250 is the value we put on educating doctors who will care for our children.

Those amounts were set when the medical faculty of the school was set up (which was probably ages ago). The professors and consultants know that they are ridiculous amounts, but they still award them anyway. It's not as if it was a deliberate amount.
