I somewhat understand your point but you can be an atheist without being a member of the society and I can imagine that most people who don't believe in any deity will just live their lives as normal.

I doubt I'll be joining myself but at least there will be a platform or entity that will work towards breaking some of the foolish taboos that exist.

The difference between being religious and not being so is that there is no requirement that you humble yourself before any person who claims to represent a fictional being.

They're rational to a point - for you to accept religious dogma you need to turn your back on reason.

A rational person wouldn't accept stories about virgin births, talking donkeys or people living for hundreds of years.

So while it may seem as though it's "Us vs Them" the reality is that it's "Myth vs Skepticism".

There is nothing wrong with registering a society as there is no "manual" for

Well i agree with you to an extent. But we can't keep demanding for pointless things just because the religious people have the privileges. What do we need holidays for? And i agree with the funding part, religious activities should be privately funded.

There you go again ,who is we? It is not pointless to me otherwise I would not mention it .

I want to have public holidays that are relevant TO ME not based on moo sighting and such like.

The vision would be quite simple if you work for the Federal Government you would be entitled to X number of public holiday breaks in a year and you can use the how you like I do not see why Christians should stop working on Muslim Holidays ad vice versa. In fact as a Christian you could choose to use Your public holidays another time.So the point is to force governmennt to think of the cost of so many public holidays and strealine them keeping governmen running all through the year.

I support you in this.

I'm an atheist too, but I believe this ASN is just an avenue for a few power-hungry atheists to have more power/influence over other atheists. This organization will be his/their voice to get attention and cause more conflict. This is not different from when someone declares God/Jesus spoke to him/her and starts a church and gathers followers. It's all a quest for power and control.
There is a radical, outspoken atheist on twitter that I used to follow until he blocked me. I will not be surprised if he's the main person (or one of the people) behind this ASN.

My atheist friend doesn't believe in God cos he insults God and he never respond in addition every story about God isn't logical. But the foool somehow believes in the forces of darkness his ex-girlfriend used in jazzing him for jolting the babe after 7yrs of dating...

I really don't get how pple fear and consider the possibility of dark forces/powers but don't believe there's a corresponding opposite force....as for me...I would rather graduate with a first class or 2:1 than assume grades doesn't matter and all jobs are gotten with connections.
