REFUSAL TO STAY DOWN

Two years back in my local church, it was announced that there'd be a Talent Hunt at the church's headquarters at Bashorun and it was also going to be a vigil.

The pastor had urged us to participate rather than just to watch others.

Well, Friday was approaching and I had no plan whatsoever about the talents-hunt. It was even the main announcement at the campus fellowship level and people really had plans for the great night.

So, a day to go, a sister visited and said she's sure that I was gonna do my ' Oral Pronunciation Drill ' that night and I said NO!
'That's not a talent nah
'it is o' she quickly said, ' not everybody sees what you can see in words the one you did in church not quite long was so cool, the people liked it..(and blah blah blah)

She opened my eyes to see why I must do it because majorly it would be strange as many people would do comedy, poems, songs, rap, dance etc and I said YES, I'd do it.

Friday came earlier than I'd thought and you should also know that I had been listening to Bishop's Abioye message on Confidence since Thursday evening. So, at the fellowship, I too announced I'd be doing my OPD, people hugged me, shook my hands and wow, I felt cool.

The vigil would start 10pm but for those who will minister, auditioning would start by 7pm. Trust me, I made it there just on time and was auditioned. I impressed the judges so much that the chief-judge said he was scared of speaking in English to me. He told me to sit at the back of the choristers as that's where all the ministers would sit and also for easy movement to the podium when we're called. I asked for direction to the person behind the projector and soon, I had met him, typed all the twenty words (on the computer) I intend to share and had sat where I was told.

It was almost time to the big night and the auditorium was filled with youths (say like 5,000 or more). I said to myself ' This would be my biggest audience so far '

I remained focused and spiritual. I didn't socialize at all. Soon the opening prayer was led. 'WOW' I sighed.

Lemme fast forward, the talent session started and people had been called upon to minister. I would go to the chief-judge and asked how far. He'd tell me to chill that soon I'd be called upon. Eer, if I'm still correct, I went to him like three times and he'd say chill.

Now, the time was 4:30am. The vigil would end by 5am. I still wouldn't give up, maybe they'd still call me.
.
4:50am and I still wasn't called. The judges had disappeared from my sight. It was then I knew I won't share anything that night(oooooh boy). I GAVE UP! I left the auditorium very sad and just when I was going to the bus, I heard ' surely, goodness and mercy shall...'

-I felt soooo bad
-I didn't understand why I wasn't called.
-and I was really knocked down...
