If Jesus is God, then why did he say "my God my God why have you forsaken me"?

The reason Jesus would say this (Matt. 27:46) is because he was a man as well as divine, and as a man he was made under The Law (Galatians 4:4), and for a while lower than the angels (Hebrews 2:9). People sometimes don't realise that Jesus, being a man under the law, would have someone he would call God, someone he would worship, etc., because he is under The Law. The law required worshiping God and praying to him.

Again, Jesus has two distinct natures, the divine and human. We call this the hypostatic union and it is exemplified in verses like the following.

John 1:1, 14, "In the beginning was the word and the word was with God and the Word was God… 14, and the word became flesh and dwelt among us…"

Colossians 2:9, "for in him dwells all the fullness of deity in bodily form."

Hebrews 1:8, "but of the son, he says, 'Thy throne, O God, is forever and ever.'"

and was brought back to life so that we could receive God's approval.

so that in him we might become the righteousness of God
(i.e. so that we could be made right with God through Christ)

Jesus, God the Son, quoting scriptures as He usually does, was partly quoting Psalm 22:1-2
and thereby, ACTUALLY was saying to Yahweh, God the Father:
God, God why are you preventing me from dying.
Why are you not helping or assisting me to die
I am on the brink of death yet You are not allowing me to die and be dead
This is why I was born and what I was born to do.
I am not afraid die because I was born to do this. I was born to die
I was born to die for mankind and their sin (i.e. Hebrews 9:22, Hebrews 2:9,14-15, 17)
Permit Me to die. Assist Me with carrying out My Purpose. Let Me die

Following that utterance, Jesus then breathed out and gave up His life, after He had cried out again once more nut in a loud voice, saying:
''Father, into your hands I present as suitable for approval or acceptance, my spirit''

U guys always try to say what d bible is not saying. So our Lord said ''My God'' because He was a man dat time? Ok, in Revelation 3:12, was He a man there also? Don't twist the bible to fit in a preconceived notion of Trinity. It is not biblical. No scriptural gymnastics can change dat.

Because that's the only time Him and the Father has been separated. because of of the role He portrays as the Son b bearing all the sins in the world(and the Father can never dwell in sin habitation)
