I am currently a student of mechanical engineering in uniben and I've to say I'm fed up with schooling.

I have a national diploma in mechanical engineering from auchi polytechnic but I wasn't so keen on it because I've a passion for welding.

I was lucky to learn a 1year course in welding,machining and general fabrication. After the Programme, I was already looking for places in Nigeria where I could learn the ultimate underwater welding but my dreams were cut short when my dad insisted I pursue a bsc in mechanical engineering.

It was a war situation because I had already written out my life goals at 20 and going to school again to study what I may not need was going to put me years behind.

However, God helped me, I got admission into uniben, currently in 200L with a cgpa of 3.16 but I'm not happy because I plan to be like Dangote before I get to 45 but this stupid school were lecturers feel like demi-gods is killing me.

Anyone ever been in this precarious situation?

Please i need advice and thank you nairaland because I can't share this problem on my Facebook page but here, I'm free.

With that mechanical engineering you're studying in Uniben, you can still do your underwater training later on. I no go advise you to withdraw sha because you fit regret am later.

Take life step by step bro. You're not competing with anyone out there. Take your pen and rewrite that planned agenda you've got to include your studies. It should even make it cooler because mechanical engineering will definitely give you an edge in the future.
