Mark 9:1 And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, There are some here of them that stand by , who shall in no wise taste of death, till they see the kingdom of God come with power.

A look at one of concocted stories of fictitious Jesus Christ, that didn't add up.

* Jesus was quoted to have promised, to lead the return of God's kingdom in all its power.

* Jesus being under the illusion of fanaticism, boasted in Mark 9: 1

* today, it's evident that all the folks, that Jesus lied will not taste death, have all die. Without his return. Jesus the trickster!

Now to the 21st century folks, who are still being fettered by this grand illusion, why do you still hope for that which has been confirmed, to be a delusional outburst of a nazarene?

Romans 8:24 For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?

Apparently Jesus and his followers all thought that he would return during their lifetime but seems christ was high on some rare weed.

Oga that passage was talking about the fall of the Temple of Jerusalem and the coming of the spiritual Kingdom of Christ which the Apostles witnessed. Please, read Matthew 24:1-25:46, Mark 13:1-37 and Luke 21:5-36..

"...... till they SEE the kingdom of God come with power."

It's physical stuff that can be SEEN.

If it ever has anything to do with "spiritual kingdom", that would have been the fictitious "descent of holy ghost in acts".

Can you give bible reference to this your alibi?

yes,
See Mark 13:1-2

1 As He was going out of the temple, one of His disciples said to Him, “Teacher, behold what wonderful stones and what wonderful buildings!”

2 And Jesus said to him, “Do you see these great buildings? Not one stone will be left upon another which will not be torn down.”

Jesus kept talking about the destruction of Jerusalem and the tribulations of the people of Christs to be faced by the Apostles and Christians, then he talked about his "kingdom" that will come immediately after the tribulations in verse 26...

26 “Then they will see THE SON OF MAN
COMING IN CLOUDS with great power and glory

Now see verse 30 and 31

30 “Truly I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place.

31 “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will not pass away.

Now relate it to what was written in Mark 9:1

Mark 9:1: And he said to them, “Truly I tell you, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see that the kingdom of God has come with power.”

You may also read parallel Gospels in the New Testament.

*Jesus will return in cloud, power and glory.
*God's Kingdom will come in power.

Both are saying the same thing and refers to physical event of his second coming.

* how does this relate to pulling down of temple?

Even at your quoted version "Kingdom of God has come with power".

*the ONLY reference to POWER and KINGDOM, apart from the physical and powerful return of Jesus, is the BAPTISM OF THE HOLY GHOST.

Your exegesis is an obfuscation of plain lies of the fabricated Jesus.

I see you want to argue for argument sake but I won't be able to employ unnecessary argument.

You asked how it affects the Temple meanwhile, it was clearly written in verse 1 of Mark 13 and the disciples understood the whole message.

Jesus always spoke in parables, he always emphasised that his Kingdom is not of this world nor any physical Kingdom. His kingdom is absolutely spiritual not of the flesh.

Your assumption(about my argument), was informed by your difficulty, in bringing up intelligent argument.

Again, you're mixing up,

* God's Kingdom and
* my (Jesus) Kingdom

Are you saying that Jesus second coming, is not going to be physical?

If only you will honest to yourself, Jesus was hinting his second coming, it was written in black and white ink in several verses of the bible.. Even ALL the SIGNS he mentioned were about the temple too? Common....

That passage was clearly about the Jerusalem, nowhere did it infer second coming.

If you read Revelations (Apocalypse) it relates with the time when the fulfilment of that passage was ongoing. Jerusalem was destroyed, the church was heavily persecuted, Roman emperors declared themselves "God" and expected to be worshipped etc. That was the time of tribulations of the Church. People were killed for their faith and some denied their faith.

I'm sure you aren't expecting to see some beings with horns and seven heads anytime soon? lol...

As for the Second coming, Christ will come at the sound of the trumpet. The dead in Christ shall rise first, those alive shall then join in the heavenly Kingdom... The whole. world will be judged including Satan. A new heaven and a new earth shall be established.

The only person you can confuse on this one, is yourself. Go back and read your second post.

The point here is that Jesus was talking about his second coming, and that some folks listening to him, will be alive at his second coming (God's Kingdom coming in power).

Your obfuscation is sterile.

The darkened stars falling was figurative and not literal.... what if I say I'll return home provided that it doesn't rain cat and dog over here? Does that mean that the recipients of my message will be expecting any literal cat and dog not to fall?

You wjll only understand Christ's teaching/words when you read within the context and with the aid of the Holy Spirit without any predetermined mindset.

For some reasons, the followers of Jesus have no business in responding to the foolish points you have raised. It is best for us to allow you to sink in your sea of self-delusion until the day you meet Jesus face-to-face. Then you will know the TRUTH. On the other hand we have the responsibility to tell everyone who cares to hear the truth that Jesus is the TRUTH. Everything he has said will come to pass have either been fulfilled or are happening. He is coming soon as the righteous judge of the whole world. This will happen at the climax of global unrest that we are currently witnessing. Jesus is the Prince of Peace and will fix our troubled world.

I always say this to your likes before typing rubbish about Bible quotes always ask for the meaning from those who believe in it and are familiar with it.

You dont just jump at conclusion on matters that you are not familiar with like a freed famished monkey seeing banana for the first time after days in a trap.

What does the Bible verse you quoted mean.

What is the kingdom of God?

Answer:

Romans 14:17 New King James Version (NKJV)
for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

All the while Jesus was with the desciples they had RIGHTEOUSNESS because JESUS is our RIghteousness and also they had the PEACE that the Messiah was with them with all the promises He gave them.
When He died and rose they got The JOY of resurrection now seeing that He said He would die and Rise again and it happened. They were full of Joy but yet they never got the HOLY GHOST.
But on the day of Penticost they got the final promise which is the HOLY GHOST.

And so the Kingdom of God was first experienced by the Apostles which never saw DEATH untill the promise was fulfilled.

That is the KINGDOM OF GOD

RIGHTEOUSNESS, PEACE, JOY AND THE HOLY GHOST.

REBELLION wont take you far.
Give your life to God before DEATH comes visiting.

Stay blessed.

Sometimes, a fool deserves a harsh response so that he doesn't think he is wise. These people think they know the A-Z of logical arguments but they have no idea of what an argument is. No one wins an argument by saying the other party is deluded in his thinking just because they believe differently. No need to argue blindly with these attention seekers especially on Nairaland platforms.

I hope the Nairaland administrators can revise rule no. 2 to include punishment on anyone who insult people of different beliefs . This I think will bring some sanity into our discussion fora.
2. Don't abuse, bully, deliberately insult/provoke, fight, or wish harm to Nairaland members OR THEIR TRIBES.
In the mean time, I agree that wrong notions about Christ can be corrected. If anyone choice to accept otherwise, it is a free world. Everyone will give an account of what they have done one day in the presence of the same Christ who they insult.

The Blessings and Grace of God be upon you

You reported me to have broken rule 2, when you were the first to use the word delusion (wrongly).

This act cowardice and appeal to pity, is a common denominator of most NL apologists.

Jesus spoke clearly and directly of Pentecost, in other places.
