Right to life means nobody not even the state has the right to take life that God gave. Only God has that right.

I doubt if Falana actually posited all this. Ambode resemble court for Falana eye? If anybody should be concern with precedence of judgement I think that should be the court and not the state governor. The onus is on the defense counsel to appeal the death sentence in higher court citing Olokooba judgement not the governor turning himself into a judge.

While I am neither here nor there on the death sentence, calling people primitive because of their view on death penalty is unwarranted. In the US of A about 70% of their states have death penalty. I guess they are all primitive.

Even if no state in US does capital punishment, every case can be examined with its culture and society. Chinese are chief on capital punishment but they are progressing. I know it is not capital punishment that makes them progress but they decided it was relevant and useful for their society.

That those countries don't do capital punishment is NOT the reason they have lower crime rate! Sensible societies evaluate issues and decide what is good for them. They don't just unthinkingly import stuff because it is from EU! If China didn't do capital punishment they may not be where they are today.

In a fair world, you don't talk of human right for you when you knowingly deprived others chance to having any. Freedom from torture? Someone who ordered that fuel be poured on another person who was alive and he ignited it. What could be more of a torture than that? Well, there are other methods that will not even make them see the torture but that they should have their sentences commuted, mbaanu. Kill and be killed, that is justice for me.

The Constitution has said it Section 33(1). Right to life is limited by execution of a sentence of a court. The high Court judge that gave that judgement is sadly on the wrong side of judicial activism.and the two prominent methods are firing squad and hanging, lethal injection was recently introduced by the ACJA.
Ambode is just executing his duties. These people have been sentenced by the supreme Court. So no other court can set them free.
For the guy screaming that he should be taken to the east, the crime was committed and in Lagos and hence the trial in Lagos. If you are in doubt consult your lawyer and if not keep SHUT off

He who kill by sword deserve to die by same. Rev. King for example burned his victim to death, what nonsense right does he have not to die by hanging? There are others that shot their victims to death, what right do they have not to be executed by firing squad/hanging? The law should not be partial.
