Our Attention was drawn to the trending news online saying our members were praying to quench the fire accident at LG showroom, not so at all.
Our members were praying so that the fire does not spread to the church premises and truly the fire didn't affect the church. Besides there's an ambulance present in the compound the church authority called them.
What the poster failed to add is that those prayer warriors were praying while some of the other members were in search of fire service to quench the fire as they were not  showing up in good time.
There is nothing wrong in calling on the name of God when faced with helpless and difficult situations. He works in amazing ways of which I'm a witness to and quenching fire isn't impossible with him. It's all about applying our faith when communicating with God.
You trying to paint the church in bad light is not acceptable as there were visible steps taken to reach out to the fire fighters.

Nigerians really believe in Prayers. This video shows some Mountain of Fire (MFM) Church members trying to use serious prayers to quench fire burning an LG Showroom at Lekki yesterday.

The prayer warriors are seen in the video speaking in tongues and calling upon the power of God to come down and quench the fire.

A facebook user, Ubong Kingsley-Udoh who shared the video wrote;

I'm still of the opinion that religion should be a lamppost used for illumination rather than support. Those are the kind of things we read in the old testament. Calling down fire, Barring rain for 3 years, Dividing a sea, etc. I wonder why such doubt-clearing miracles are missing in our generation. Just as they were praying, suddenly the fire goes out, and hundreds will believe. But no! God has left them to the ridicule of the likes of the poster. I wonder how they will encourage themselves after the futile effort.

Because what you read in the old testament is fiction. It's not real and never happened. Remember the Bible as written when men were so superstitious and could not seperate fiction from reality.

That's not a wise thing to do. Faith is not lazy. Not that they can't pray, of course they should always pray. Can pray against the spread of the fire, or for the safety of humans around. However, nothing stops them from being proactive in putting out the fire. Some people were just videoing the thing though, smh.

If prayers can stop the spread of the fire, and protect the people arundel then why can't prayer stop the fire? Remember Jesus said that I you have faith as little as the size of a mustard seed anything you ask for through prayers you'll get. Seems the words of Jesus make no sense t you at all. There is nothing that these women are doing that wasn't told by them to do by Jesus. Pray ad ask for whatever you want and it will be granted if you have faith those were the words of Jesus. Clearly it doesn't make any sense to you.

Op is right. We spiritualise(if there is a word like that)everything in this country. Had it been prayers fix a nation we would have been better than U.S or u.K by now. Any small thing pray for Nigeria. They loot money now people will say pray for nigeria instead of arresting the culprits. Boko Haram pray for Nigeria instead of wiping out the idiots. i did not say that prayers cannot stop the fire, stop putting words in my mouth. Miracles are God's intervention into physical affairs. Usually, God would not do things He has given you ability to do. Jesus said that He feeds the birds, yet they go out to look for the food. Faith is not a lazy get away, that's where your like and prosperity gospel merchants keep missing it. That's why your faith is very weak and a mirage.
