The Anti-Narcotics Cell of the Navi Mumbai police on Thursday afternoon, April 27, arrested a Nigerian national Ugochukwu John Nnadi for trying to sell mephedrone rocks and powder.

The police have seized around 25 grams of the drug in powder form and 85 gram in rock form, together estimated to be worth around 3.30 lakh. One lakh ≈ 1,500 US$

Inspector Maya More, who confirmed the arrest said he had received a tip-off about the accused, and accordingly sub-inspector Amit Shelar and his team had been laying traps in Koparkhairane for last three days. The 37-year-old was nabbed near Janvikas CHS in Sector 11.

According to the officials:

"When he realised that we were police officials, he tried to escape. After a struggle, we caught hold of him. We found some pav in his possession, and on opening it, we found the drugs hidden inside," Ms. More said.
Police found that Nnadi had come to India around three years ago on a business visa and had started trading in women’s and children’s clothing. The visa has now expired. He later started peddling drugs to make easy money.

"He was produced in court and has been remanded in police custody till May 5, giving us more time to interrogate him. We will investigate to find out who he planned to sell the drugs to," Mr Shela said.

Seriously though, why are these uncircumcised Indians arresting my people for development? What exactly have we done to deserve these kinds of mal-treatment? Why the marginalization? They better tread softly and not incur the wrath of Okike Abiama!

What they don't realise is that no matter how much they try, they can't stop us from developing Mumbai, Calcutta and their no man's land capital of Delhi. We're formidable

Like the great Chukwudi Amah said in his book "An Ibo that can't bring development the every corner of the world, is that one Ibo?"

Their economy will just clash like Elloplane if they continue to arrest us like this.

They should go ask Mr widodo of Indonesia how we transformed Indonesia from a third world country to what it is today.

Ever since Rodrigo Duterte of the philippines began his war on drugs campaign and started arrested plenty of my Igbo brothers, their economy has nose-dived into a massive recession.

Do they know that the Russian army come to Nkpor to buy Humvees? while the Chinese stole our Ojukwu bucket ballistic missile technology to develop theirs?

Do they know that countries like Malaysia, Vietnam and Thailand issue we the children of Abiama developers permit?

As for you Yorubas saying rubbish, you people are just jealous of the fact that you can't be like us - always jealous of our success!

When we finally gain our independence, we will name our country "Developers republic of drug traffickers" because we're whiter than white, whiter than Akpu.

May Chkwu Abiama make everything easy for us ooh. Isee!

I think it's becoming so childish the way we come here and celebrate when one of our countrymen is paraded for drug related offenses in a foreign country. First off these foreigners do not make any distinctions about us as they see us as Nigerians. If not for the failure of our law enforcement agencies this national embarrassment we face daily from those who have sworn to get rich quick by trafficking drugs would have been nipped at the bud. The law enforcement agents that fail to crackdown on these traffickers back home are spread out to virtually all tribes so it makes no sense bashing only the Igbos for perpetuating drug related offences abroad.

Until we grow up and face this issue maturely our reputation will continue to be smeared in the committee of Nations. It's about time we channel our disgust at d right places...#NDLEA #FAAN #NigeriaCustoms

My Brother from the East
Let us be sincere here we Igbos have brought massive shame and disrepute to the Nigerian passport, through our various criminal activities, both home and abroad... but abroad especially.
We have a culture that celebrates criminality and dishonesty, but worships money.
That is why as a people we do not care how wealth is being made, to us any hustle is legitimate as long as the cash is coming in. We need massive lifestyle re-assessment as a pele. Otherwise, we will only continue to see more Igbo druggies and fraudsters in future.

It is a sad situation.
