I just watched this video and I could call it luck, or coincidence, but the words in the end resemble what I did in the past few years.

There was a time when I deleted my facebook account, started reading books, deleted all my video games, began visiting nairaland Literature section on daily basis...all in a bid to build my English vocabulary.

Funny as it may sound, I was born and raised in a remote village where I attended a conventional village public primary and secondary schools. The only English sentence I could proudly boast of until I turned 7years was...

"Good morning"

Reason was because, in my local dialect, there was no other words I could use to substitute the aforementioned. So, by default, my brain were conditioned to register the two words on my cerebral cortex.You can imagine that moment when our English Class Teacher is teaching us English Language with Igbo dialects.

"Ada is a girl", Kwuo yaaa!...

January last year, I set a target of reading over fifty non academic books. Majority of the books were African novels and western episonages . I lieu to my priority, I dedicated most of my time to reading, reading, reading and nothing but reading...I read late in the night, early in the morning, I read inside the toilet, in the kitchen, in the shop, inside cabs, banks, keke, even when I'm strolling, I must always have something to skim through.

In the solitude while in the process of implementing my self-imposed quest for reading adventure and exploration of people's minds through written masterpieces, I got an idea which gave birth to YOUNG READERS' CLUB, a Multi-National WhatsApp portal which housed over fifty like minds from over five different African and Asian countries.
.
It was the first time in my life that I accomplished these things without giving up for straight 6months, simply because I dedicated most of my prime time, resources, attentions etcetera... to achieving that single aim..though I am still failing back into bad habits but i get up and keep going.
.
The primary motive behind this post isn't to condescend myself or gasconade my egoistic hubris. The intent is to show you my friend that you can still become whatever you wish to be provided you have that unflinching zeal of becoming a better you burning inside your heart.

This video's words in the end spoke to my heart, I will take it as a sign that I must keep moving forward no matter what. I recommend everyone to go to Brian Tracy YouTube channels to subscribe and watch some of his videos. He inspired me most than any other motivational speaker, he spoke to my heart and he's the reason that gave me that spark to get out of the bed and do something with my life, become the strongest version of myself as he calls it.


I also bought his book "Eat That Frog" and it has amazing stuff and ideas to help you grow stronger, get over procrastination and manage your time effectively. I also recommend everyone to read Ralph Waldo Emerson's essay "Self Reliance", if you don't understand it search for the translation of it by Adam Khan, it's free on the internet and he has it on a book in amazon too.
