I think it is the public money and should know the outcome of the investigation, the process of investigation can be made secret due to the way we politicize everything in this part of the world.
I trust VPYO to do a great job as he is a pastor and not an every day politicians like others.

Akinyemi should just shut it.

We the public need to know how such a humongous sum of money can be warehoused in a private residence on the basis of national security or whatever cockamamie story one might concoct.

This excuse of national security is becoming a useful tool for anybody in the corridor of power to express.

Some years ago money was found on a plane I'm South Africa our excuse was the same...matter of national security.

Is this how money is stacked in other countries?

DeRuggedProf:
Rubbish.
Old cargoes ranting rubbish.
An opportunity to appear nationalistic and carry an air of importance and knowledge.
As far as I am concerned, NIA is a waste of resources as an establishment.
These organizations are crucial in developed nations but NOT in 9TH WORLD nations where even provision of drinking water to citizens by simply sinking a borehole is ROCKET SCIENCE even to THE PRESIDENCY... grin grin grin.
Does a NAKED man have anything he is claiming to be hidings?
If the north korean retard wants, he will even kidnap our president this night and Lai will tell you tomorrow that he went on a visit to that nation... grin
Nigeria has nothing to hide and nothing to discover about other nations and also nothing to spend secret funds on... grin grin
We know the purpose of such bodies.. KWARAPTION.. grin
We need the NIA to spy on Benin, Cameroon, Niger and Ghana. Oh, I forgot, Guinea Bissau too. grin

He also warned that putting a foreign intelligence officer on trial in an open court is going to be disastrous to external national security interests.
This is the part I do not understand. Maybe he is privy to more information than is out there in the public domain. Has any foreign intelligence officer been indicted? Is he merely speculating that the money was to be used to bribe double agents?

Everything should be in the public sphere. EFCC knew that the money belonged to the NIA but still went ahead to raid the place even when the DG told him to call it off. Now our national security is going to be compromised just because Magu is seeking for relevance. Abeg make una do public hearing make everything cast.

I'm not in support of a total blackout of the National Assembly.
Both houses of the NASS can hold classified, secret hearings on the matter. No cameras and reporters would be allowed into the room.

Nonsense advice!
These are the reasons why we are where we are today. Osibanjo may not openly buy this piece of advice but may eventually change his original plan on the report because of this baseless reason advanced by this decaying brain just because he is a renowned deplomat. Some of these so called experienced deplomats are some year behind already. He will end up being economical with making the report available for public consumption. Smh

The Ex-minister has a very strong point but i trust Nigerians to be blinded by sentiments and start screaming blue murder, this case is a sensitive one that involves "National security".......... angry

What a daft thing to say that the case involves 'national security'. What happened to transparency? This is one of the reasons this country is not moving forward. The outcome of a case involving such a huge amount of money should be made public, as only then will the masses (except the few with personal and selfish interest in the case) believe the current govt is actually and genuinely fighting corruption.
