SEYI Olayiwola Ahmed, the man who attempted to blow up the Superscreen TV on December 22, 2009
By Albert Akpor & Evelyn Usman

LAGOS — SEYI Olayiwola Ahmed, the man who attempted to blow up the Superscreen TV on December 22, 2009, yesterday, on his sick bed at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja, said his intention was not to hurt anybody, not even staff of the Superscreen TV, but to draw the attention of Pastor Chris Oyakhilome of the Believers’ Loveworld Church better known as the Christ Embassy.
The 30 year-old Oyo State-born film producer and father of one, said he manufactured the explosives himself having learnt it on the internet. He claimed that he had been working for the church for some time now adding that the last job he did was not paid for and that his intention was to actually get the attention of the pastor for financial assistance.
Ahmed said: “I am somebody who learnt things by intuition, and so I was always browsing the net and because I have special interest in explosive I learnt how to make them.

I actually made three explosives, it was the smallest one that exploded at Logemo House and got me injured. Like I said, I was in a financial mess after the lady in one of the branches terminated my contract with them. The church did not even pay me for the one we did earlier for them let alone the latest.
So I was frustrated and wanted something to do to feed my family. My mission at the Superscreen was to ask how much they pay for the shooting of soap operas and other things and not to hurt anybody.
But it happened that the man I met said the person who was in a position to give me some of the information  was at the seventh floor. It was when I was going up that the explosive went off, ”
Regretting his action, the failed bomber who spoke flawless English Language quoted some scriptures like “touch  not my anointed and do my prophet no harm.”
The incident which prompted yesterday’s confession, began, December 22, 2009, following an explosion on the fourth floor of the a nine-storey building at Onipanu along Ikorodu express road, where the bomb carrier was affected.
The explosives which was neatly wrapped as Christmas gift, was taken to Superscreen Television, on the ninth floor of the building when it exploded mid way, rocking the entire area.

At first, no one could give detailed account of the exact cause of the explosion, as there were varying accounts as to how the explosive got to the building.
But the following day, the Lagos Police Command boss, Mr. Marvel Akpoyibo, told anxious journalists that the victim of the blast was actually the messenger, adding that two additional explosives detonated by policemen from the Bomb Disposal Unit, were also discovered at the scene of the blast.
Salient issues

Although Akpoyibo was silent on other salient issues concerning the explosion, he, however, promised to do so at the appropriate time, noting that when the suspect’s abode, which he failed to disclose for what he described as security reasons, was searched, more items that aided the command’s investigation were discovered.
Vanguard, however, learnt that the suspect lived at the Fola Agoro area of  Shomolu, where he occupied a room apartment on the ground floor of the two-storey building. He wife also was said to have hurriedly left the house, holding two polythene bags and a sac, with a baby strapped to her back two days before the incident.
After the incident, security measures such as rigorous search of visitors into any of the companies in Logemo house was carried out. Vanguard gathered that the incident prompted the rejection of wrapped Christmas gifts from unknown persons, particularly by Supercreen Television staff.

Meanwhile at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital where the 30-year-old Olayinwola Ahmed was initially admitted at the intensive care unit, security was tightened as only designated doctors were allowed to attend to him.
Some police nurses were also detailed to take care of him and also kept an eye on any visitor that requested to see him. Unfortunately there was reportedly none, until last weekend when two visitors who came visiting bolted away before nurses could alert plain clothes policemen.

Tudor, why jump into conclusion without having the details of the transaction. Have you heard from the other party the terms of their contract, if any existed? So typical of you.

So you use bombs to recoup your debts now?. Is that how bad we've deteriorated in Nigeria?. Sanusi should follow suit then if that will make Akingbola return his loot.
Re: My Target Was Pastor Chris - Lagos Bomber by Tudor6(f): 6:47am On Jan 07, 2010
Simple question, Why won't christ embassy pay him his money and you're ranting about debt collection.
Re: My Target Was Pastor Chris - Lagos Bomber by AloyEmeka9: 6:50am On Jan 07, 2010
Who told you that Christ embassy is owing him. For Gods sake, the guy acted like a deranged religious fanatic, why buy his confession way before the church release official statement concerning this issue?. There is always a 2 sides to every story.

No offense but this guy sounds more credible than that fraudulent organisation called CE. . . Two shady characters give account, who'd you believe?
Re: My Target Was Pastor Chris - Lagos Bomber by AloyEmeka9: 8:08am On Jan 07, 2010
I don't know why you call Christ Embassy fraudulent. They may be defrauding people in their church but they sure as hell are not suicide bombers. I wouldn't believe a Mutallab for anything in this world.
Re: My Target Was Pastor Chris - Lagos Bomber by KunleOshob(m): 8:57am On Jan 07, 2010
Honestly pastor chris needs to get born again, give his life to christ and start living a christ like life. It's just one scandal after the other. Why is his organization so crooked I won't be suprised if there are more disgruntled people out there who would like to have his balls. Do you know how many lives has been ruined through his fake ministry and fake healing programmes?

I don't know why you guys should ignore a suicide bomber and concentrate on the few Nigerians who actually make a change in our country. No wonder we are retrogressive.

Ephesians 4:14:

14 Then we will no longer be immature like children. We won’t be tossed and blown about by every wind of new teaching[by Oyakhilome and his cohorts]. We will not be influenced when people try to trick us with lies so clever they sound like the truth.

Thou shall not judge. In your quest to dent Oyakhilome's image, you are committing a mortal sin by judging him.

I am not making Judgements i am only stating the obvious truth as a christian and trying to save losts like you from his likes and partner in crime Bishop Oledepo whom you worship. Talking of judgement are you not the same hypocrtie that is Judging Obasanjo by declaring his wealth as stolen in that filthy thread you created in the politics section? Better be aware Obasanjo is a saint compared to the likes of Oledepo and Oyakhilome tongue
Re: My Target Was Pastor Chris - Lagos Bomber by AKO1(m): 10:59am On Jan 07, 2010
The bomber looks so pathetic, geez shocked lipsrsealed

He says he wanted to draw Pastor Chris' attention, I guess that's one of the disadvantages of running or belonging to a huge ministry. The essence of 'pastoring' i.e. proximity to the flock is removed. I can't imagine having to blow myself up to get across to my pastor.

He is a disgruntled pentecostal preacher who is mad at God because his ministry refused to pick momentum like Winners chapel and co. May be he should try a career in the police force or EFCC becayse this clerical job is not working out for him. Help me beg him to leave Oyakhilome, Oyedepo and co alone because all the weapons he is fashioning against them shall never prosper.

Nobody sent me, nobody sent me, I repeat, nobody sent me! My target was not Superscreen. I wanted to get the attention of Pastor Chris Oyakilome of Christ Embassy Church. I was frustrated because things were not moving well".

These were the words of Seyi Olayiwola, a 30-year old father of one who was arrested by the Police for allegedly attempting to blow up the office of a television station on December 22, last year.

The suspect, who is lying critically ill at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja, is blind from the explosives and has also lost two of his limbs as a result of the effect of the explosive that detonated in his hands. He spoke to reporters yesterday. The hospital was heavily guarded by policemen from the Bomb Disposal Unit. Olayiwola said he made the explosives himself and that he got the idea from films and information he got on the internet.

According to him, he did some job for the Christ Embassy Church at Owodunni, Lagos Mainland, but was not paid.

He went to the television station because he wanted to attract the attention of their head pastor.

"They were owing me some money and all of a sudden they stopped giving me jobs. I had gone there before to ask for my money and the girl I met told me that she was not aware that I should go and bring the person who brought me," he said.

Narrating what took place at Logemo House, Onipanu, home of the television station, the suspect who claimed to be a film producer cum computer engineer, said: " My name is Seyi Olayiwola Ahmed, after I finished school in 1997, I went into film production. Early last year, I started feeling frustrated; things were not moving fine.I had interest in films since I was a child. So, early this year, I picked interest in explosives I started going on the internet and started looking for information on Explosives. So, I carried out series of tests on explosive, just recently, I did a test which gave me desired result .

"Because things were not moving well for my family, and I thought that if I can actually get something like this right, I could use it to feed my family and people around me. I am this kind of person that likes helping people. My intention was to take my recent exploit to Christ Embassy, Owodunni area for a test because they were owing me for a job I did for them, but when I got there that day, the whole place was locked and I could not carry out my act, so I went to Superscreen to find out how much it would cost put a Soap in their air time, when I got there, I got distracted and the explosive blew, before I could rush to the Christ Embassy building in that Logemo House, the whole thing had already exploded. My target was not superscreen, my target was Christ Embassy Church in that place.I went there with three explosives: the first one was intended to draw attention so that I can tell the world why I was there, because I needed to draw the attention of Pastor Oyakhilomhe to my plight. Nobody sent me to Superscreen, my target was not Superscreen; my target was the Christ Embassy Church.

"Right now, I need Pastor Oyakhilomhe to forgive me because I have sinned. My intention was not to hurt anyone, but to draw attention to my plight because one of his branch churches was owing me. If I had met Pastor Chris and told him about my problems, he would have listened to me, but I did not get the opportunity."

Lagos State Commissioner of police Marvel Akpoyibo, who addressed reporters after the suspect’s confession, said the Lagos state command is pro-active in crime-fighting, measures adding that the suspect’s behavior was "absurd"

This's the kind of thing Kunle would do, when his frustration and demonic possession reach the peak.

So was the motive 'bad belle' or to get the attention of Pastor Chris to his plight? Because the title must not be misleading.

if you believe the reason he advanced, then you can believe anything!

Even if that's the reason, it's obvious the devil wanted to use him for a different purpose entirely!

This should be a lesson to pastor chris and he better repent.

When you steal money from people in the name of tithe and seeds or refuse to pay them for services rendered the next thing he might hear is KABOOOOM! A robbed poor man has nothing to lose.
