An anthem being a song of patriotism is a sacred identity of a Nation, Organization or Community.

About eleven months ago, as part of his efforts to have a UNIQUE and UNIFIED identity for Ikere Kingdom, the Paramount Ruler of Ikere Kingdom, HRM Oba Samuel Adejimi Adu, Ogoga of Ikere Kingdom requested for the composition of an Ikere Anthem.

Many entries were submitted by respected Ikere indigenes; a team of carefully selected music scholars under the leadership of Rev. Elijah Olaleye of The Apostolic Faith Church Ikere Ekiti was put in place by Kabiyesi to harmonize all entries.
