Hmmn Impex undecided Anyway, I'll wait until tomorrow before I say how I feel about using them. My packages are already overdue.
Re: Cheapest Way To Ship Goods From USA To Nigeria? by akhanaton: 1:53pm On Nov 13, 2009
Well you will probably keep on waiting. I contacted them today and I am hearing stories. They sent a text message to make it look like our goods were already here and we should go and pay into thier account. Upon paying we went to collect and they told us the goods were still at the airport and this was thier new procedure! Believe me, they did not make this clear in the text. Aparently they don't have enough money to clear the goods. A source within the organizaion tells me they had to borrow money the previous week to be able to clear the goods and thats why they changed thier policy. These goods are already over 1 week late by the way. Now they don't have a clue when we will actually get them. I hope ad pray my stuff is not stuck or I will be suing.
Re: Cheapest Way To Ship Goods From USA To Nigeria? by akhanaton: 5:33pm On Nov 13, 2009
Update:

When I called first thing this morning, I was told that the air cargo section of the airport was shut down aas customs ordered all clearing stopped. That was the story. I called other sources at the airport only to find out this asa a BIG LIE!
I called them back to inform them what I had found out. At this point they pretend that this is the information that they are getting from thier clearing agent but they will send someone to confirm; A few hours later I call again and the story is now that the clearing agent lied to them. I find this very hard to believe. Would a company rely on the story of one clearing agent  or do thier due deligence to confirm the authenticity of his claim. Or maybe all agents that day decided to lie to impex.

It's must be a vast left and right wing conspiracy! At this point, I dont know when we are going to get our stuff

Finally got my shipment from Impex. This is my worst experice ever with a company. If you are thinking of using them, you have been warned! These people have no customer service whatsoever, they show no regret or remorse for dissapointing customers. When I opened the boxes, I noticed a few of my products missing. On top of everything they are bloody thieves. Someone in thier company had picked some of the best of my goods and decided he would keep them for himself. I will never use them again.

Oga o. I'll pick mine up from Monday. undecided

These are goods for other people and each package I sent through them has an invoice/itemized. Each package also has a weight by which I was billed, so a reduction in weight = proof of thievery.

They claim they don't open packages therefore If any item is missing I will definately be filing in the small claims court in New Jersey to cover the loss of goods as well as refund. There are many peoples goods that have gone mysteriously missing from impex so it shouldnt be hard to prove they are theives.

I will also be printing out the terrible accounts of other people to back up my claim and perhaps will be in contact with you all via email to obtain cohesive statements so perhaps you can all claim your losses. It's terrible that they lie and have an awful customer service but stealing goods is way out of line.

I'll receive my package on Monday, then, i'll know how to proceed. I will squeeze the last cent of my goods of them in court if so much as a pin is missing. I havent taken anyone to court this year, perhaps they'll help me break that record. The hand of the law in naija may be short but it's very "long" in the US.

Let me just wait.

@Akhanaton,
I thank you for this valuable info. I was just thinking of doing business with these fools.
Re: Cheapest Way To Ship Goods From USA To Nigeria? by Hynman: 5:16pm On Nov 16, 2009
Yes, goods were definately stolen. Around 10 items. The terrible part is they showed no remorse or apology about it whatsoever and accepted no responsibility. They clearly opened the packages to steal the goods.

I have time so I am taking them to court. If they have stolen over $100 worth of goods from you, let me know if you want to put in a joint claim.

What a bunch of thieves. No wonder their business is dwindling. Morons.

Im glad these reviews are up here so people can be warned to stay far far away from them.

After my nightmare with them never again!!

I had a detailed itemized list that was copied and notorized.
they had 3 copies, mine, one for the recpient that was in a sealed envelope, and one for impex.

Nothing was stolen, but one of the phones I shipped now no longer works, and it was brand new.

Though my recpient tells me that they tried to steal stuff out of my package , but I stayed on their ass from day one, through emails and phone calls, they know i dont play.

If you think you have issues with impex, wait till you hear what happened to my friend. He bought a TV and shipped it to impex that delivered it to naija broken!a 2000 dollar TV!!!!after waiting 5 weeks!then he got them to replace it and, of course,it arrived broken tooo.He simply gave up and asked for a refund.Got less than half of the TV's cost price back.As for what he paid for shipping(N100,000),not a dime back.Beat that!
Re: Cheapest Way To Ship Goods From USA To Nigeria? by akhanaton: 6:36am On Nov 18, 2009
@Hynman, thanks for the offer to file a joint claim, the goods are worth over $100 but I can't be bothered with such loosers. They will get what they deserve. I am not sure how much longer they will be around at this rate anyway. I wish you the best of luck with your suit. As for others, please dont get burnt by them.
Re: Cheapest Way To Ship Goods From USA To Nigeria? by Hynman: 3:02pm On Nov 18, 2009
Thanks Akhanation.

Everyone who has been burnt using Impex should leave a review on merchant circle here

It will warn online users about them. I wish I had seen their reviews before.

Boko Haram, I shipped the TV through Impex to your friend were you informed that Impex replaced this LCD TV 2 times, YES 2 TIMES & on both occasions the TVs were broken at the Nigerian airports. The airport authorities removed the wooden cratering during their customs inspection & exposed the TV to damage. Please tell the whole story if you must. I have used other shippers from the USA to Lagos and none would spend over $3,000 on a replacement. email infousa@impexworldwide.com or call their offices. Yes Impex Lagos office needs lots of customer service but Impex still remains the best I have used and I have been shipping goods from the USA for 5yrs now & have gone through 6 or more shipping companies. smiley cheesy

My sista, you can't make a blanket statement like that. I presume that you are also a NIGERIAN. Are you saying that you are one of them?(419 Scammers)
Re: Cheapest Way To Ship Goods From USA To Nigeria? by platinumnk(f): 6:49pm On Nov 22, 2009
maxuche:- do u work for impex? what about the stolen goods? got an excuse for that?
Re: Cheapest Way To Ship Goods From USA To Nigeria? by akhanaton: 7:06am On Nov 23, 2009
Obviously this maxuche cannot be trusted. This is a company of rougues. He must me an insider as he seems to have his version of the broken T.V. Can he explain to me why there was no response from Impex (I emailed them n the U.S.) with regards my missing goods. Not even an acknoledgement or apology, nothing. So dont just say the lagos end lacks customers service. The entire organization is rotten and you my friend are questionable.
Re: Cheapest Way To Ship Goods From USA To Nigeria? by Hynman: 5:44pm On Nov 23, 2009
I can see an impex employee is on here trying to save their ROTTEN, maggot infested, reputation.

Sorry, we are not buying your crap. Morons. You signed up just to make this ONE post. How PATHETIC. Bloody scammers.

Sorry to disappoint you, I am just a customer of theirs, but you have your experience & I have mine, mine was good & I am still using them. Would you rather I join the band wagon? Sorry I don't lie. Platinumnk from your chat above you had delays right? so why are up in arms? When I call & they have delays I chill & don't fight them b/cos I have never lost a pin with them. I use Impex b/cos they are much cheaper than Fedex or DHL so I am willing to sacrifice on some delay. Don't trash Impex just use DHL or FedEx period. "Cheap thing no good & good thing no cheap" They have done good by me & I will continue to use them, period.
Re: Cheapest Way To Ship Goods From USA To Nigeria? by akhanaton: 7:40am On Nov 25, 2009
@ maxuche, go selll your lies somewhere else. Can you explain why you seem to know so much about the broken T.V? you must be a very good 'customer'. what a coincicdence you just happened to join naira land a few days ago when the truth started coming out about those thieves. Nice try though wink

Coincidence? I think not

a) Maxuche signed up on the 22nd of nov JUST to leave reviews
b) on the same day, he left THREE reviews on merchant circle in a pathetic attempt to save their woeful ratings.

Maxuche, if impex is in the hands of daft employees like you, indeed IMPEX is a fast sinking ship. You lost your moral and business compass a LONG time ago.

Please can someone recommend a good cargo company from Maryland. I had a nasty esperience with a company called ESI express, they told me that i will receive my goods within 7 days and i ended up waiting for 36 days. I normally send laptop. There is one company i saw online called Nile cargo, they said they have a drop off location also in Maryland and i want to know if anyone has used them. May i know if any nairaland know how much dhl charges for their shipping from Maryland.

Re: Cheapest Way To Ship Goods From USA To Nigeria? by mosquah: 4:00am On Dec 17, 2009
I've shipped with a lot of companies and found that the best companies are sometimes the small companies that are trying to make a name for themselves. Companies that are small have small over heads and will try to quote you low so they can keep you as a customer. Goodadvise, I checked on luxuryshippinglines.com and found they have been in business for one year which was a big concern for me in the beginning. I also realized that there were not enough reviews about this company. This also was a concern. I did a search and found that they are a legitimate company but small at that. I called and did speak to a female who knew a lot about shipping to Lagos, Domestic and International. I did not ship with them to Lagos at that time because I shipped with Impex and other companies on this board and was screwed. Goodadvise, I now ship with them for Domestic and International freight. They are honest about their rates and if they can not beat it they will find you someone. They are on the ball when it comes to tracking which is daily with this company. Impex and SLR never provided updates on my shipments which was bothersome at that.
My advise to everyone is look up the companies you are dealing with on Dun & Bradstreet or dnbpowerprofiles.com and get a background check on the company. I now ship with other companies to Lagos but use Luxury for all other shipping needs.

i was scared at first but i just used impex, i live in 9ja, i ordered a laptop and 2 more items from amazon and got it delivered to impex, it took 7business days(10days) to get to Lagos, thats not bad for the shipping price as well, 3.5 per lb
