Dear Friend,

Am a graduate of Electrical Electronics Engineering, and i will frankly tell you to be focus as the field is supposed to be the most lucrative in Nigeria as we are still not getting anyhing out of it yet, w still have power problem that means Electrical is and will remain relevant in the Nigera market, up till today, we have not been able to make a single Transistor radio that is marketable and this makes Electronics also relevant has Nigeria might want to start producing electronics devices in the nearest future.

In-short, the best you can do now is to acquire all necessary practical experience even from the road side Electrician.

Please try to socus on computer related fields as that is the only place you can be relevant in the Labour market as at today i.e Networking, Run the course while you are in school so that you will be competitie in the labour market by the time you will be graduating, if possible get your CCNA & CCNP before graduating.

If you find it interesting please mail me for more on jcsonvonyon@yahoo.com.

@Dayo, you are very much right about the options in the field but remember that excellence is achieved in an uncommon situation.

@atunje, computer owns the present and the future
@Dayo, Nija is not ready to appreciate power, the people importing Generator are paying the FGovernment not to make Power useful in Nigeria, everything is money.
So what option do u have left

japro:

Elect/elect engr. or computer engr. Which should someone choose to study in nigeria university. Pls your response is need urgently to fill a form.

@Japro, both courses are lucrative in Nigeria but the question is why is it that 75% Elect/Elect students are found writing one Computer professional course or the other, the issue is in the next 20 years in Nigeria, I.T will remain valid in BUT POWER or most things related to Elect/Elect are not futuristic as even NEPA or PHCN managing Directors have shares in the importation of Generators which means they are not ready to making power issues to be solved as they are earning more money from Generator supplier than from their salaries.

I would strongly advice you to go for Computer Science and for more details join my job offers group on FACEBOOK ", Dream it Achieve it". Just search for the name and see for yourself the number of I.T related job to that of Elect/Elect.

Bye
