For those of you who have seen indigenous rap stars, Olamide and Phyno, in live performances, you not only understand, but can attest to the magical moment that their personality and mastery of the vocal music art creates.

In this post, we’ve created a scenario, pitching two of the industry’s finest in rap.

Now, let’s assume that the 2kings have staged a free-to-attend concert at locations of their choice. But however, you only have the opportunity to be at just one show for obvious reasons being that both shows are holding at the same time but at alternate venues of course.

So the tough question is whose show will you be going for?

Will it be Olamide’s… or Phyno’s perhaps?

Look at this Scenario , if Olamide and Phyno throws a show in the east (Owerri) and west (Ile-Ife) , which would people attend more ? they both have their core fan base in their respective regions .

Lets say they throwing it in a neutral state. Lets say Lagos or Abj and TP is free for all who want to attend. Which would you go for. No one is basing it on tribalism. I am not Yoruba by the way.

1. Lagos is not a neutral state. 2. Attendance would be based on the population of the ethnic groups based in a neutral state , Fans are divided along ethnic line . I like Phyno but won't choose his show over Olamide simply because i can easily relate to what Olamide says but with Phyno i don't understand what he sings about. I can only flow with the Rhythm

Lagos is more neutral than Imo or Abia state. You have more ethnic groups in Lagos than you would find in most SE and SS states so Lagos to me is more neutral. There is more possibility to meet an Igbo or Rivers man in lagos who speaks and understands Yoruba than meet a Yoruba man in Owerri who speaks and understands Igbo. Hence I picked lagos

I agree with you on the point you made on the neutrality of lagos. But there is still some form of ethnic loyalty in our bones , speaking the language wouldn't still make us identify with a different tribe, except you are a mix of both and in that situation you switch allegiance as it pleases you .
