To write for planned announcements and launches, you’ll have some warning. They are part of a plan. In fact,
you can write some tweets and Facebook updates in advance and have their publication automatically scheduled,
with tools like TweetDeck and HootSuite. In other words, write them all in advance, schedule their automatic delivery,
and relax in the knowledge that you don’t have to get up early in the morning to send one of them manually.
No matter what kind of product you are planning to launch or put out there, you and I know that using the Social Media
platform is the simplest yet cheapest means you can think you.
One thing you should take note of is this make sure each of your write up carries an Image that will engage people
and will want to make them share your tweet or update, you get the gist?
So without further I do, let’s get into the meat and potatoes of this piece

Here is an example of a sequence of launch tweets or Update:

3:00 p.m. – Crazy day. Making sure I have everything lined up for big announcement tomorrow. Watch this space! : )

7:00 a.m. – Product X now available! Save N5, 000 if you order today! Please RT/Share [URL] / [Phone No]

10:00 a.m. – Wow...if my servers weren’t so great, they’d be crashing! : Product X flying off the shelf. Still time to save 5,000. [URL/ Phone]

10:15 a.m. – Thanks Mike! Let me know if you have any questions. RT @Mike_Kunle, I got it! Can’t wait to dig in and get started.

11:00 a.m. – Janice, DM me your # and we’ll talk. @thejanicelady Nick, can I get a discount if I buy several copies?

2:00 p.m. – Don’t forget, the 5 bonus items are all linked to in the confirmation email you receive after your payment has been processed. [URL]

2:45 p.m. – Yes, I’ll answer all and any questions in the member forum area. (Not got Product X yet? Save N5, 000 if you order today. [URL])

4:00 p.m. – BTW, if you love Product X, or have an audience that might, there is an affiliate program. Could make you big bucks! [URL]

5:00 p.m. – Here is the article I wrote last year...which became the inspiration for Product X! [URL]

5:30 p.m. – Oops, almost forgot to take my daughter to her piano lesson. Back in 30.

6:00 p.m. – Just 6 hours to go before the N5,000 off discount expires! Check out Product X now. [URL]

You get the idea.
There are a few things to take note of here.
First, this is just an example of the tweets/update that could be sent out over the 24-hour period. This approach would work
for entrepreneurs selling their products. But the same, conversational, one-on-one approach would still work for a small company.
Many companies designate an individual to be their social media front person. And, that person communicates with prospects
and customers in this same, conversational way.
Also note that this is launch day. All the tweets and Update are about Product X. It’s okay to do that for a special day,
but not every day. Other days should be devoted to delivering value, asking and answering questions, retweeting other
people’s stuff, and so on. You build yourself a reputation over time, so that you CAN, occasionally, devote a whole day to
talking about your own stuff.
And, you’ll see that not every tweet is a regular message. There is an RT there. There is an answer to someone else’s tweet.
There is an invitation to DM the author. There is even a personal aside about a piano lesson.
So, even when you do have a “promote your stuff” day, you keep it within the conversational and interactive style you
employ every day.
This is very different from delivering top-down promotional messages with a traditional marketing launch.
The success of your launch day with Social Media will depend less on what you write on that day, and more on the reputation
you have created for yourself over the preceding months.
I’m going to say that again, just in case you skimmed over it.
The success of your launch day with Social Media will depend less on what you write on that day, and more on the reputation
you have created for yourself over the preceding months.

It is because you have built that reputation that you can use conversational language to promote your product. You are simply
leveraging the attention and trust you have worked so hard to build over time.
Okay, I’m going to repeat that one, too.
It is because you have built that reputation that you can use conversational language to promote your product. You are simply
leveraging the attention and trust you have worked so hard to build over time.
Do you see how different social media writing is from conventional marketing writing?
With conventional marketing writing, or copywriting, everything depends on the power of your copy on a single page delivered
on a single day. With social media writing, you are engaging your audience over the longer term. You build trust by being authentic and helpful,
and by delivering real value.
