Getting a job as an IT student nowadays requires knowing AutoCAD,Revit,3dsmax,SketchUp Pro,ArchiCAD just to mention a few.

This thread is dedicated to discussing issues concerning skills in it and how to improve. Contributions from other knowledgeable Nairalanders is always welcome.

A kitchen visualisation project in Magodo done by me.

2D Plan drawn in AutoCAD,modelled in Revit Architecture and final 3D Visualization done in 3dsmax and VRay.

i am a studio artist with sketchup use with 9 years experience... i do all my works in sketchup with (paid)commercial extensions from validation to 3d detailings and renders... sketchup is awesome...

it is the leading bomb now as it has an awesome plugin that does better than what revit does, awesome plugin that does what autocad does and list of endless renderers of your choice...from vray, to advanced renders.

Building modeled in Revit 2009. Clay Test Render of a building before adding of textures. Trying out the new VRay 3.6 for 3dsmax Design 2014. This VRay is 7x faster than normal. It did this in a few mins plus on a iCore3 PC.

I'm think of hosting classes on architectural visualization. Lemme know the areas that are your weak areas by quoting me with the number options:

1) I want to learn AutoCAD from scratch.

2) I use AutoCAD to an extent but dunno how to model in 3D.

3) I want to learn Revit Architecture from scratch.

4) I use Revit to draw,model and render with the default engine but want to learn the VRay plugin and how to render in 3dsmax.

5) I want to learn SketchUp Pro from scratch and how to render.
