The issue of pregnancy has really caused a whole lot of havoc to so many young and growing marriages today.

So many young couples had called it quit because there are no children to show. On great mistake people do is now shifting the blame on the woman which is uncalled for.

Most of the time, issues can also come from the males aspect but this is not what I want to discuss, in few paragraphs below, I will give 15 Possible Reasons For Delay In Pregnancy


1. Postponement :


The most common reason is delaying pregnancy to a late reproduction stage by women, because of the focus on career or family reasons and other personal issues.


2. Use of lubricants :


It reduces sperm mobility and transfer. Reproductive Physiologist, Joanna Ellington,informs that Water based lubricants often have glycerin (which has been shown to be toxic to sperm) and propylene glycol both of which are highly hyperosmotic. This results in irreversible damage to sperm and a loss in motility after exposure to commercial lubricants. Damage to sperm and subsequent inability of the sperm to penetrate into the cervix following contact with lubricants may prevent conception in some couples. 

3. Damage of the fallopian tubes :


This is the root cause of infertility in almost 30% of the cases. When fallopian tubes are blocked, they prevent the sperm from getting to the egg or block the passage of the fertilized egg into the uterus, thus leading to infertility.


4. Indulging in smoking, drinking and drugs :


Smoking damages sperm, making them less likely to fertilize eggs.


5. Aneamic or low haemoglobin :


Studies have revelaed that women who don't get sufficient amounts of iron may suffer from lack of ovulation, a condition called anovulation. This results in poor egg health, which can inhibit pregnancy at a rate 60% higher than those with sufficient iron stores in their blood.


6. Drug overdose :


According to a study performed in 2003, regular cannabis smoking can have serious effects on male infertility including lowered sperm count, decreased volume of seminal fluid and poor sperm motility...

What about the simple fact that NOT EVERYBODY WILL/SHOULD HAVE KIDS?!

Some people out there are impotent/infertile, with damaged womb etc, they will NEVER have kids, and it's all good. Life is bigger than this, and if they truly want to be parents, let them go and adopt one of the gazillions orphans languishing in orphanages all around Nigeria.
