The Bauchi State House of Assembly has recommended that indigenes of Plateau State currently resident in Bauchi be made to return to their state just as it also called for the imposition of a state of emergency in Plateau.

Tension also rose yesterday in Minna, Niger State following series of text messages being sent around about a possible clash between Muslims and Christians after the Friday prayers.

A member of the Bauchi State House of Assembly representing Tafawa Constitu-ency, Hon Aminu Tukur, disclosed the Bauchi lawmakers’ resolution to journalists late on Thursday.
Sectarian violence cropped up early this month in Jos, Plateau State, claiming over 300 lives, with hundreds of buildings destroyed. Hundreds of Bauchi State indigenes were said to have relocated home following the crisis.

The lawmaker said the State Assembly held a strong session on Wednesday where it deliberated on the Jos crisis and how it has affected the state and country at large and "recommended that natives of Plateau State should be made to return to their state. Giving reasons for the recommendation, Tukur said: "They (Plateau indigenes) are not willing to live in peace with other Nigerians. They don’t even recognise the constitution of Nigeria, which in Sections 41 and 43 says that Nigerians have the right to live in any part of the country and can own property anywhere they choose to live.”

The lawmaker claimed that there are close to fifty thousand natives of Plateau State in Bauchi. "There are about a thousand of them in the state’s civil service, mostly of Berom and Angas extraction. In Bauchi local government alone there are close to 20,000 Angas."

He said there are about 10,000 displaced people taking shelter in the state with Boto community in Tafawa Balewa Local Government Area housing over 3,000 thousand.

"Historically, Plateau State was part of Bauchi emirate with Chiroman Bauchi as the District Head of Jos. Wase, in Jos, was founded by an indigene of Bauchi, Madaki Hassan, about 200 years ago.
"So we wonder why the people of this state now feel they own the place," Tukur stated.
In a related development, the Niger State Police Commissioner, Michael Zuokomour who confirmed that the command received series of text messages alerting it about a planned reprisal attack in Minna, said the same message had been received by several individuals in the state’s capital.

Zuokomour who spoke to pressmen after panic ensued at the Minna Central Market as a result of the text messages, urged people to ignore the "mischief makers."

"The Police Commissioner stated: "The said planned attack is just a rumour and we do not have any facts to substantiate it. However, it has created  panic and we must act fast."
The police commissioner said he has dispatched his men to different parts of the state on round the clock patrol to avoid the outbreak of violence.

Chineke mee! I cannot but laf in Igbo?

That Plateau should leave Bauchi and go home to their own country (sorry, I mean state). But I thought it used to be "one" country? Anyway sha, I am it is only a matter of time, the Jihardist North will implode. My people have a saying that

"No matter how you cure a mad man, he will definitely still be winking".

Thus, no matter how you pacify the Jihadists, they must still do Jihad.

Nigeria should split, so that each person can invest in his/her country, with the knowledge that the tax is going to help their people, and not using it to develop the northern side. I think it's high time Niger deltas pull the plug on every 1's a$$. This is going to make each tribe affected creative and more united, rather than living with our brothers in the north.
