I was invited to a church close to my hood and while I was less busy, I decided to attend service this Sunday morning. After the first part of the activities ( praise, worship and prayer) The pastor mounted the pulpit to minister.

He began with introducing the topic to be preached on an started his sermon. After the service, I met him to ask a few questions about what he preached that I wasn't comfortable about and coupled with the fact that he sounded unsure of some bible verses he quoted.

He said he is busy at the moment and directed me to the junior pastor to be attended to, while he was visibly not doing anything. May be he can't stand to be corrected by members . Nobody is infallible. we all make mistakes. I can attribute his flaws to lack of preparation prior to today.

My Question: Have you been able to correct a pastor before and what was his/her reaction?

if u haven't, what made you not do so?

People 'switch off' their brains in church so pastors ain't used to answering intelligent questions.

That's the problem with religious organisation or religious hierarchy. They words becomes law and when you persist, you will be seen as an enemy

This is how my friend was thrown out of one church. If you do not agree with the pastor's teachings, leave the church immediately. You won't change his/her mind. They will just use the pulpit to make you an enemy.

I think no one is an island of knowledge,which means anyone can b corrected,is just how n where is bn done

There's only one master and that Is Christ.

Pastors can be corrected and the humble ones (the few true pastors) take to corrections.

You may not be able to stand in the church during sermon on Sunday but I want to believe you have Bible study time midweek or a church whatsapp group. Every Bible believing pastor will encourage members to ask questions and be willing to take correction if he is wrong in the light of the scriptures.

(2 Timothy 3:16 KJV) All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is[b] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction[/b], for instruction in righteousness:

(2 Timothy 3:17 KJV) That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

Obviously you cannot ask questions. No body is perfect, and even pastors know this. That's why we have cardinals that host homosexual drug filled orgies, and pastors in naija who smoke cigarettes too. Only God is the perfect One. If you have difference of opinion, discuss it with him during the week you foul spirit of doubt!

Do you mean that the pastors are not even Christians?
Because Jesus Christ always answered questions and even encouraged his followers to THINK hence he would always ask "what do you think" about any particular subject before providing his own response.
Obviously, many pastors are not even Christians i.e. Followers of Jesus Christ in words and in deeds.

nothing wrong in correcting a pastor, matter of fact no one is infallible. Little samuel had a grace/gift eli didn't have....but then... Opinions and perceptions differ.What if he was right, and you were wrong? It was wrong to dismiss you like that anyway.
