It is no longer a news as Imo State governor is going around hunting for parcels of land he wishes to take. The latest after his on-going encroachment at old Shell Camp quarters, is the Federal Allocation at Site and Services Estate Avu, owned by Innocent Nigerian citizens and duly allocated by the Federal Ministry of Lands, Works and Housing.

What we do not know if he is merely collecting Federal Government properties just because the President is not in the country and he feels he is above the law and the section of Land Use Act that provides security for Federal land from the State encroachment. It is even said that he has promised top military officers and politicians of plots at that area so that they can support him take it over and also ssupport his bid for his in law's election.

The Land owners have started opening the roads and set to proceed with development of the area as all negotiations with the community have been sorted. The activity of destroying the area he engaged is even damaging the beacons and properties already existing, and which will be to the detriment of the Innocent struggling land owners

The Land owners or allottees of the estate are pleading to the governor to resist from such unconstitutional act and we also plead to the general public to spread this appeal to it gets to the appropriate quarters. We also call on the Honourable Minister of Lands and Housing to urgently wade into this matter and strengthen the governor his neck.
