sweetgala: Instead of coming here with the usual hogwash why don't you tell me how many extra megawatts have been added to the 4800 received from the former government ..Don't forget the former administration handed over generation assets with an an installed capacity of 9000 MWs but was only generating 4800 due to many logistics and supply reasons ..Please tell me how many Buhari has added. |

SalamRushdie: It's not Buhari job any longer not the direct duty of the Nigerian government to address the power generation as those assets that manage that sector have been privatised. Please don't be so willfully foolish because I'm aware every sane Nigerian knows the structure of the privatisation of the power sector as undertaken by the GEJ/Sambo administration , the process of tender and selection was flawed and we now have these important facilities and agencies in the hands of poorly funded inadequately knowledgeable companies So you are not confused GENCO means generating company (75% private) | Transmission line(national grid) FG | DiSCO means distribution company (75% private) The FG as an entity has done well to push for the PIB bill, settled the disgruntled ND youth provided a bail out for heavily indebted disco and GENCOs, provided a credit line for the DISCO and GENCO to remain in business , amended the billing rate. The transmission capacity has grown since Fashola took over that is proven fact and public knowledge |

SalamRushdie: Fashola can not add more power to the grid, what he has been able to do is to improve the transmission capacity of the grid. I believe the number is over 12MW now as opposed to the less than 8MW prev available. It's a pipe dream to expect the Nigerian power sector to be transformed in such a manner you have described in few years but least some great progress has been made in the positive direction. The privatisation program GEJ oversaw was a flawed one every reasonable person should accept that the conditions and the process did not give a solid base for rapid growth |
