The general definition of steward - One who manages another's property, finances, or other affairs. We must remember that everything we have belongs to the Lord, so that what we do possess is not our own but what God has entrusted to us; We have no rightful ownership of our possessions

We must decide within our hearts to serve God to serve God and not money

Mat 6:19 Make no store of wealth for yourselves on earth, where it may be turned to dust by worms and weather, and where thieves may come in by force and take it away.
Mat 6:20 But make a store for yourselves in heaven, where it will not be turned to dust and where thieves do not come in to take it away:
Mat 6:21 For where your wealth is, there will your heart be.
Mat 6:22 The light of the body is the eye; if then your eye is true, all your body will be full of light.
Mat 6:23 But if your eye is evil, all your body will be dark. If then the light which is in you is dark, how dark it will be!
Mat 6:24 No man is able to be a servant to two masters: for he will have hate for the one and love for the other, or he will keep to one and have no respect for the other. You may not be servants of God and of wealth.

The bible makes it plain that any greed is form of idolatry

Col 3:5 Then put to death your bodies which are of the earth; wrong use of the flesh, unclean things, passion, evil desires and envy, which is the worship of strange gods;


Deu 8:18 But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.

If you are Christian all your resources are for the the advancement of the kingdom of God, especially the work of the local church and the spread of the gospel throughout the world, to help those who are in need, to lay up treasures in the heaven. Please understand that God knows you have needs but he says trust me first and God will take care you more than you can ever take care of yourself.

Our giving should always be in proportion to our income.

Our giving should be voluntary and generous

God has promised to reward us according to how we have given to him.


Imagine if God takes your talent, health, wisdom - you are left with nothing - so does it not make sense acknowledge God first

In my life - God has been good to me because i have put him first especially in the area of my finances and i understand that everything i have belongs to God.  I have been prospering even though their is a recession in the U.K

Please understand - God love towards us is unconditional irrespective whether you acknowledge him as your provider or not - But one thing is for sure recognising you are a steward provokes the heavenly system on your behalf. which one would you prefer the failed financial system of this world or God's guaranteed system
