Are you from Offa or do you have ancestry lineage from Offa, or is your spouse from Offa, or did you ever live in Offa?
Let's chat about our town here.

I am not from Offa but have lots of friends from there. I always enjoy native chicken stew sold at a joint popularly called "Yii l'ata" each time I visit.

YILATA sprang to prominence of late. traditionally it used to be one "point and kill joint" at Ijagbo, there used to be one fish joint at IPE junction also(i don forget the name)

CORRECT.
I think the hidden location of yilata makes it more attractive. The pepper inside the chicken dey wan make man kolo, but anyhow the thing sweet. Sometimes when you order for assorted yilata, u go know say life sweet.

I also understand there is a standard hotel near POLY now. Is that true?

Is it the same IYA shamsudeen on olofa way , near fire service? The bushmeat woman. What surprises me there though is why the pounded yam never leaves the morter. They sell directly from the Mortar, no wrapping.
