Lets find a way to make this trend. Youth make up 70% of Nigeria population. Yet the same thieves that have been ruling since 1960 still occupy leadership positions in the country.
Let Youths refuse to vote for any candidate above 45 years old in the 2019 election.

Is there any evidence youths would do better?

How is someone above, say, 35, a "youth"?

The leadership crises we face have got nothing to do with age but orientation of the average Nigerian. If we focus just on the age as a criteria for whom to support, we'd end up doing nothing but just shifting the rot from one spot to another.

No difference my dear. How have the "youths" that have been given very sensitive leadership positions in the country fared? If facts is anything to give by, there is simply no difference.

I can still remember how they managed SUG in Uni.
If we think more of youths, we probably end up electing yahoo boys in sensitive position cos only those boys has the financial capacity to match the political demands in Nigeria.

Old cargo refers to the old guard have have looted $400 billion dollars from Nigeria since 1960 according to World Bank. Vote for new candidates and stop some voting the same thieves that have looted at the Federal,State and Local Goverment level and expect to see different results progress in the country.

The reason that Nigeria doesn't have 24 hour electricity is because of the old guard who will keep looting the money.

We need fresh blood in the system and when candidates like Yul Edochie,Terry G and KCEE come up to contrst, they are mocked by the same youths who are always crying about the corrupt polticians that destroyed the country and turned it into a zoo.

The only sad thing about this is that the youths are also thieves with exactly the same mentality as the oldies. So how exactly does youthfulness help change anything?

Leave old thiefs for new ones

It's not a very bad idea anyway.

Lets give it a try.At least money will go round, instead of remaining in the same thieving families.

We don't steal as much as the elders

Because you havent been given the same opportunities... What did people like Dimeji Bankole do with his position besides proving to the world that he as a youth could match the oldies in the game?

Bro, whilst it is good for younger more vibrant chaps to be in leadership, that isn't necessarily an assurance that anything will be different with regards the mindless greed and lootocracy. What we really need is good leaders that are accountable; and that has nothing to do with age, sex, tribe, religion or political affiliation.

Op have you ever heard of Godfatherism, a situation where a God father fields in a younger candidate so you can vote.

The truth is everyone is tired, I'm personally not voting this 2019, I'll be watching it instead.

So many others have already said what needs saying: all this talk about voting for "youths" is meaningless if they're drawn from the same pool of Nigerians who see politics primarily as a means to self-enrichment, and everything I've seen (e.g. the mindless worship of criminals like "Hushpuppi" ) indicates that younger Nigerians are even more corrupt on average than the older thieves they'd like to replace, with the only difference being that the younger ones would have a much longer span of time to steal than the old men who are fast approaching their graves.

If you're serious about getting better government, instead of paying attention to irrelevancies like age, place of origin and the rest, you could start by paying much closer attention to what candidates claim to believe, what concrete schemes they have to improve things, how exactly they plan to fund their grand plans, and what their track records have been in terms of keeping their promises. Otherwise I suspect what really motivates you is that you too want to follow the example of the Abachas, the Dasukis, the Diezanis, the Sarakis and the Melayes, and you resent the older thieves for standing in the way of your fantasy of "living large" off stolen Niger Delta oil-money.
