WHAT IS CHIEF JOE IGBOKWE'S SIN?

That he did not join a band wagon of people who have neither a plan/strategy nor a consensus on what they are embarking on and who lack clear understanding and intellectual depth?

That he is not a member of the PDP - a party that deceived ndi Igbo for 16 years and still holds them mentally hostage today? Well he never was.

That he chooses to tell his people the hard and inconvenient truth instead of playing the ostrich and to the gallery like many others?

Well give me Joe Igbokwe's story any time, any day, I will lap it up.

The story of man with a can-do and never-say-die spirit.
A man who is not afraid to excel even in a foreign land where excellence is the watchword.

A humble man who stooped to conquer.
A man who made success out of nothing and most importantly a man of consistency, honor, dignity, integrity and truth.

Call him a "servant" anyday and I would respect that servant who like in the Parable of the talent, did not waste the talent given him by his master but rather made the most of it and became an example.

Who is even ashamed of answering 'servant'? - The Godless of course. Did Jesus not elevate the servant above the master?

And to debunk their base thoughts, Joe Igbokwe is an examplary and honorable 'servant' in his own fatherland serving his fellow black men and brothers while some who naively deride him are servants in a foreign land - serving white, racist men whose ancestors dehumanized our ancestors by slavery, yet they have the audacity to talk.

Who is the real "Slave" then? Be the judge.

It was just a call for a debate - a simple, intellectual and civilized excercise that would have either proven Joe Igbokwe right or wrong or their fabbled 'messiah' right or wrong and given more clarity to the issues. They could not take it. Rather they chose to take on the man. Again you be the judge. But we now know. Everyone is not ignorant.

The worst form of slavery is mental slavery. Another horrible form of slavery is ignorance followed by self deceit/delusion.

I celebrate a true Igbo son who is the epitome of the true Igbo spirit of resilience, determination, integrity, hardwork, bravery, decency, honor, truthfulness, trustworthiness, dependability, excellence and above all humility.

Thank God for people like Chief Joe Igbokwe that still make us remember what the true Igbo man is.

Men like coscharis maduka, Tonimas, uche ogah, udeagbara etc, also made money outside the south east -yet they returned home to put in place facilities that would reduce the brain drain from the east. That's what elders do. Till Joe makes use of his Lagos gotten wealth, knowledge and whatever to improve his region, he has no moral right to castigate nnamdi kanu .kanu is the shepherd gathering the flock in the east, people like Joe left unprotected and directionless . I don't buy fully into his biafran ideology (I believe a united Nigeria is best if it can work for all parties involved) , but am grateful he has got us thinking as a tribe/nation. no matter the outcome of this ipob storm, Joe would be remembered by the majority of igbo- present and posterity- as among those who let them flounder in the dark.
