I am sure you dont know anything about Ekiti State apart from online propagandas of Fayose you see daily.

Ikogosi used to have a total staff strength of about 154 with salaries ranging from 32,000 monthly for cleaners and gardeners to over 300,000 monthly for senior staff member,all Nigerians and locally recruited with a touch of some staff members of Imo, Edo, Osun, Ogun, Lagos, Kogi and Nasarrawa states origins. Other welfare benefits were still separate.

Ikogosi was self sustained and running smoothly with normal tax remittances to FIRS and EKIRS, a lot of improvement on the economic and social activities of Ikogosi Ekiti. Ikogosi Resort was generating his own revenue, paying staff members and improving the facilities on behalf of the state government.

As at today, Ikogosi has only 20 staff members with the highest paid staff receiving a paltry 25,000 monthly.

What value has fayose added to Ekiti State than enriching himself?

During festive period, Ikogosi used to received nothing less than 10,000 tourists with a lot of picnic activities, the place is almost a ghost town now.

Economic activities have paralysed in Ekiti as we speak. Over six months salary are currently being owed by Fayose. Fayose is the Deputy, Speaker and all in the state. It is very unfortunate.

They are two things involved here, it's either that

1. The pictures from the other thread were taken a long time ago
OR
2. Fayemi didn't renovate the entire place, the zombified op posted pictures of the few renovation works and cleverly omitted the ugly parts of the facility to score cheap political points.

foolish biafran keep lying. Ibadan is owing four months salary and Ekiti is owing at least 6months. Yet no infrastructure on ground in Ekiti to justify where the money is going. lol I'm probably more travelled than you are. I stay in Ekiti for a year and I visited Ikogosi. I stayed in calabar for a year and I visited tinapa resort. I was still at tinapa two years ago. There is no traffic at tinapa but the place is well maintained!!! I can post my pictures at tinapa if you want. I even took pictures with Bae. What Ikogosi lacks is maintainace. Go back to yesterdays thread and see torn roofs and dead wood all over the place. Fayose simply starved the facility




BTW tinapa is not dead. It's very much alive!!! If a facility is maintained people will visit even if the traffic is not as much as expected

This is a fair observation but seems destined to make THE VERY SAME mistakes Fayemi made that cost him victory.

These kinds of projects are good. (one would rather prefer the easing up of business activities in the state and the creation of opportunities for PRIVATE organisations to undertake such - governments are not well suited to devising and running hospitality facilities)

The Crux of the matter is: Is there food in the stomachs of the populace while such is being built?

Let's not get ahead of ourselves and repeat this nonsense in 2019.

Fayemi COULD SIMPLY have looked out for the physical and material condition of Ekiti People WHILE seeking actively to provide proper physical infrastructure the dividends of which will kick in and further move the generality of the impoverished populace out of a dependence on 'stomach infrastructure' to appreciation and enjoyment of physical infrastructure.

The thread on the sorry state of Ikogosi warm spring resort came as a rude shock to me. I worked in Ekiti prior to the 2014 election and I know the facility was renovated by the administration of Dr Kayode Fayemi 5/6yrs ago.
I did some digging online and I was able to find pictures of the renovation if Ikogosi and it's access roads under Fayemi of APC.

Long story short, it takes little or no effort to destroy what has been built. That is why we as the electorates must open our eyes wide and differentiate between a good leader and the empty barrel. Enjoy the thread
