I am very new to car mart. and I do not really much about cars. nevertheless with my research I discovered that Toyota corolla is okay for a first timer according to things I have read. but due to the nature of the road to my house which is very bad I am beginning to give Toyota matrix a consideration just because of the height. but I don't know the major difference between them.i will appreciate if any one can advise me on this.... or any other spec of Toyota that is good for a rough road, with a maximum budget of 1.6m

Corolla get cheap parts and fuel consumption make sense.

Additional opinion buy gof 3 wagon u will never regret it,u can still sell it after 1 to 2 almost dsame amount

Honda CRV, HRV or Element, kia sportage or a toyota Rav4 is better, using those toyota in a bad road will cause your shocks premature failure. What you will save on fuel, you will loose to leg work, catalyst converter shock and exhaust constant patch.

But if you are adamant on buying saloon, matrix and corolla are almost the same thing in different clamshell except for some rare models matrix XRS and corolla XLI fitted with a 2.4L engine for more power. The big daddy is a no brainer not as fuel efficient as the latter but efficient enough with more cargo and sitting space.
