I have a school management script to host for a client.

Considering the fact that its a school website which does not generate much traffic (estimate of less than 1k views per day) except during or after exam period when scores will be submitted and parents can check their child's result. The traffic might increase a bit.

2) What hosting plans are suitable? (5gig storage? 20gig bandwidth?)

For Nigerian host, I'll recommend smartweb.com.ng. For foreign host, I recommend inmotion. don't go near namecheap.com please.

Try whogohost. Syskay will frustrate you later in life. Someone I know recently had issues with their server. I've never had a downtime before on my inmotion hosting.

Smartweb is unbelievably reliable. And the funny this is that they don't realize it; either that or they are in denial. I had a terrible experience with them sometime in 2010 and left... fast forward to 2017, it's like it's even worse. Two terrible experiences can't be wrong.

I'm going to consider Syskay or Qservers.
