Your friend has been used... If your boss sees another fine lady na so him go boot you out

Hmmm...its a tricky one. Talk it out with your friend, try to find out fyom her the real reason why she was laid off and make it clear to her your stance on the whole thing.

If its nothing personal with the boss and she does not take offence if you replace her, you could take it. Personally if I were your friend I wouldn't take offence, except you have a plan B for another job.

Talk to her about it but take the position, talking to her about it only mean you are letting her know what is happening and not doing anything behind her back, if you take the position you are not betraying her trust.

Let her know about the latest development since you said she had asked who is occupying the position... If you think she will feel bad that you accepted the position, tell her the Oga said you will be sacked too if you don't take the position
