Hello Geographers in the house, I have always wondered; despite the advanced technology in cars and deadly speeding innovations that has overwhelmed car makers, traveling by air is not only faster compared to land but has a difference in time that can be comparative to heaven and Earth. From Kano to Lagos, if one is to travel by let's at the speed of 150km/hr, by estimate, you will spend almost 15hrs on the road. Now, by air, that same distance will last for 1hr, 40min max!! PLEASE, someone should enlighten me on why this is so. thanks. |

Isn't it obvious? Planes travel faster than cars plus they have the liberty to travel in a straight line which reduces distance. It's basic physics. The average speed of a commercial airliner like Boeing 747s is between 850-930km/hr. |
