He is widely know throughout in Nigeria. He was a sufi, defending sufi when he was alive and he died a sufi. He is the same reason many people who claim to follow rasul becomes a kafir . . .

He wrote series of books in which he practised and defend sufism. NO DOUBT HE WAS KNOWN BY MUSLIMS AND NON MUSLIMS AS A GREAT ASSET OF ISLAM until sunnah of rasul started spreading widely in nigeria . . . . i have heared series of tales about him that i took to be magnificient until i understood islam according to sunnah .. tales like when he was born he was kn0wn to be glorious, when he died and was buried, a bright light came out of his grave.. when a w0man(rich and popular) av fogotten her name when having birth problems,adam told her to bring a ram and he performed just 1 rakah and wind started blowing hard, the ram dissapeared and the w0man later g0t pregnant..and the boy she gave birth to is the only kid she gave birth to. . . WHO KNOWS IF THOSE TALES ARE TRUE OR FALSE. . . .In a nutshell, People loves him till date and still follow him.

His markaz is the m0st popular in nigeria and its where m0st of people wf regard as scholars graduated from. . . those that claim to follow rasul whom the graduated fr0m adam abdullah markaz find it so much hard to make takfir of him despite the fact that he was in clear dolal. . . which is proven by his books and stories people say about him ... "meanwhile they have ignored the hadith of rasul that said, "takfir made on a muslim makes the pers0n who make the takfir a kafir, and calling and affrirming islam for kafir makes the caller(s) or affirmer a kafir"

Sheikh Adam AbduLLah al-Ilori is a scholar of Islam, he specialised in Arabic language but was a mutafannin (diverse scholar and writer).
He subscribed to the Ash'aree aqeedah and the Sufi methodology of practicing Islam.

Sheikh Adam wrote many books during his lifetime. I own and have read a number of his works. The truth is he was very devoted to gathering and teaching knowledge. This made him build a centre (markaz) for learning Islam.

However, with the revolution in Islamic knowledge and understanding, it is now clear to the knowledge seekers of Yoruba land that sheikh Adam al-Ilori was hyped. However, the knowledge he possessed was beyond par for the civilization of the place he lived during his lifetime.

However, it is the sunnah of Allah that no man will ever be free from error. Sheikh Adam had his errors and mistakes but we hope that the good he did will overrule those errors and faults.

The people of sunnah out of justice do not claim infallibility for Sheikh Adam or any other scholars of Islam. The Sufis find it difficult to understand this because they love to be excessive in praise of people till they raise their sheikhs to the level of divinity.

That is the reason why you will find sufiyyah people going to Adam's grave to make dua and offer oaths and sacrifice. Obviously this is disbelief that takes one out of the fold of Islam but we won't call them disbelievers because these followers (many of who are market women) are ignorant folks. They should be enlightened and educated not thrown out of Islam.

I downloaded the first volume of your most revered Al-Kafi book which is like Soheehul Bukhaari to you shia. The first hadith in the book had an amputated and paralyzed chain.

There's something called istitraad in balaghah (Arabic eloquence). The speaker diverts a bit from the topic to another because of a link between them in other to make his points clearer.

But when others defend theirs blindly as well, you rage. This i have problem with. You have clarified yourself that Allah's sunnah is that only He is above error. But what you people do is , you make sure you label sufi shuyuk alhubida cus of mistakes they made. By Islamic standard, we overlook errors or mistakes of scholars just like sahaba, even though we see errors, we are thought to speak less about it except for shia. So you guys do to sufi what shia do to sahaba. I dont really mean you specifically.

the second link is crazy one. I'm surprised ibn Taymmiya was called "Qutub". NEVER heard that before. I remembered a salafi brother here once told me Qutub is shirk. And the guy called "dragnet" said something similar. Jinn Stories thread exposed many of them. Abdelkabir however doesn't want to be called muridi.

Here ibn Quyum is called hardcore muridi of ibn Taymmiyah. So if there should be anyone to be called Mu‘talizah or Jahamiyyah , it is our salafi brothers here. Many of them denied karamat. They love to waterdown karamat. We deny bogus karamat by so called waliy. I condemn both sides of extremes: DENIALS & EXTREMISTS.

Now, we had Qutub in Africa and Nigeria but these brothers considered them to be on dolal.

Do u even know the tira's he wrote? the things he said? making jest of islam "by saying hijab is n0t in islam" .. do u even know that he said that there are ALLAH rasul that later became a kafir? . . Do u even know that he said he said he knew the "ilm guhyb" ..which only ALLAH knows............... there are t0ns of things he said, "do u even know that making jest of islam or rasul is same as making jest of ALLAH..and it has no conditions before one can make takfir. . its straight takfir.go read suratul baqora.... do u want to tell me that adam abdullah didnt make jest of islam abi? . . . Ibn abdulwahab didnt know that ibn taymiyya‘s muridis had already documented their sheikh‘s exploits. grin

Thats why we dont take them wahabis seriously coz we know their “Islam“ didnt go beyond the 18th century.
