What skill?

The local skills would be burnished by the same local players who have never made any meaningful contribution.

When the government goes on a road trip to encourage foreign players you the usual usurpers would do everything to frustrate them. Yet, you cry that there are no investors or opportunities.

Can't you mine gold or uranium yourself?

What skill?
Ask Fayemi. He is the superbly remunerated public servant who still corruptly enriches himself with padded budgets, needless foreign trips like his boss despite claiming that they met an empty treasury and worsening recession with scarce foreign exchange. I should not forget his N50 billion bed when he was governor.
As for road trip, you should tell us why we have embassies first of all before we go further on that line.

..... and the jobless minister has to go all the way to Australia to convince them to invest here since they are not capable of gathering intelligence on worthwhile investments by themselves?
Oya, clap for ya self.

Oga na oversabi dey kill una. What's wrong with a minister travelling to woo investor. Do you know what business development entails. Investment is a process and this kind of meetings are inevitable in the process. It does not mean the process will end well itself. It's not everything we have to be overly critical about

Re: Kayode Fayemi Leads Nigerian Delegation To Australia, September 6 by wink2015(m): 5:58am On Sep 05, 2017
Like Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Kayode Fayemi this socalled QUIET GENTLEMAN THAT CAN NOT HURT A FLY is taking delight in foreign and pleasure trips just to waste and drain our money in Australia in a venture that will still lead to NOTHING. Buhari lack knowledge of economics and he does not see anything wrong in this wasteful trip to a far country. We are now DESPIRADO in search of money while we wasted the easy money that came from crude oil export.

Just as many previous governors, minister will go on this socalled abroad in the name of foreign investment only to be doing a different thing. infact to fill his pocket with DOLLARS from his official assignment.

Obasanjo during his regime went to Vietnam, Cambodia and the like of the Asian tigers countries and things NEVER change for the better while he was in government or soon after he left government.

How many of us can recall how President Olusegun went and bring in Richard Branson of Virgin Airline to revamp our national carrier AirNigeria. what happened to the contract it simply went into the blues. We have no national carrier till today.

Fayemi is not an economist by profession he read INTERNATIONAL RELATION from University of Ife and I wonder why Buhari should put him at the fore front of our new investment gateway.

In the period leading up to the appointment of minister by President Buhari, Fayemi was lobbying to be made foreign minister but Buhari had a different plan of which he pushed him to the solid mineral sectors to be the minister of solid mineral.

But this man is not the best man for solid mineral. How can he drive solid mineral when his own Ekiti state has no noticeable solid mineral neither his he a trained man in foreign investment or banking.

This is the extent Buhari knowledge as a leader ends as he himself is also a blind man that can not take our Nigerian economy from the doom it is already inside.

Unfortunately, when oil was bringing us so much money we never exploited crude dollars to our economic advantage but rather politicians were making a feast of it to feather their own private nest. Now it is pay back time.

SINCE OUR GREEDY POLITICIAN NEGLECTED PROPER MANAGEMENT OF OUR OIL PROCEEDS LEADING TO MASSIVE LOOTING OF OUR NATIONAL AND STATE TREASURY WE ARE NOW FINDING IT THE HARD WAY TO GENERATE INCOME. WE ARE NOW TRAVELLING TO AUSTRALIA TO BEG THE AUSTRALIAN TO COME AND INVEST IN OUR SO CALLED SOLID MINERAL. What a desperate and hardway to look for money and consider the stress of travelling to a far country called Australia.

IF WE HAVE SAVED THE PROCEEDS FROM OIL WE COULD HAVE GONE VERY FAR AND IMPROVE ON OUR INTERNALLY GENERATED INCOME (IGR ) ESPECIALLY DURING THIS TIME OF GLOBAL RECESSION.

UAE, Qatar, etc have used their oil money to build beautiful touristic wonders, high rising buildings, hotels and different properties and assets and today with less coming from oil they are getting along more much comfortably than Nigeria. Infact, tourism is now bringing much more money to this tiny gulf country of UAE and Qatar today simply because they invested during the good old days of crude oil. But Nigeria had its political class feasting on the oil and we are back to square one running up and down looking for money quite despirately.

This is the pain our leaders we have had all this years unleashed on us as a nation just because they have no foresight.

OUR MUMU DON DO!

u might b a stern supporter of fayemi but please and please do not call out my lineage like dis ever again.
i am a native of igbara odo ekiti. and if u ar familiar wit d terrains of ekiti state u should know dat dat d town is jst a stone throw frm ikogisi. i am betoning d fact dat fayemi is d worst governor ekiti state has ever had and by d grace of God will ever have. to answer ur questions,
i hav been to ikogisi warm spring many times. but all still d same to me. there there was a little development but they ar all overrated like we all know. dat a governor fail doesn't mean he wont have a project jst to justify his wasteful tenure.
DFID has been in Nigeria and Ekiti as long as i can remember. and moreover, a department aimed at giving aids to the less fortunate coming to a pparticular community only signifies dat d said community is denerating more and more into poverty or u mean another DFID i dont know about , pls lecture me. and lastly which farm in oye? or do u mean d fake red block industry in oye local govt. dat fake industry couldn't even outlast his tenure as governor. u urself knows dat fayemi was a disaster. dis guy was voted out by by all d local government areas in d state. could not win jst a local govt.- an incumbent governor.
