Hello everyone,
This is ameri9ja, founder of the Danist movement.

There is a saying: Those who forget history are condemned to repeat it.

That aptly describes some agitations in Nigeria today. 3 million were killed in the Biafran war. 3 million!! Not to talk of the unbearable suffering.

To remind ourselves what that war was like, I'd like to invite everyone who can to post any images, pictures, or graphics of Biafran war they have or might have come across.

To my fellow Ndigbo I say this: don't be deceived by secessionists. Dokubo Asari and the Delta, by secession, will gain control of trillions of dollars worth of oil under their ground. Ndigbo, on the other hand, already have control of their resources and will get no extra control of any resources by secession.
Secession will be a net LOSS for Ndigbo.
The Igbo natural entrepreneurial acumen is best applied in a big, diverse area like Nigeria, not in a land-locked south east.
Ndigbo giving up their share of Nigerian wealth and needing a visa to go to Nigeria is a big loss to Igbos.

By their natural acumen Igbos have an avantage in a democratic Nigeria. The things the secessionists are complaining about are temporary and rectifiable but the Igbo natural acumen advantage in a democratic Nigeria is permanent. The Biafra pride you see now, which is the only possible gain, will eventually dissipate as everyone looks out for his own village or side and even want to seceed from Biafra - that's human nature.

If only this DAN thing could start from looking at the root cause of why people still wanting Biafra after 50 years. Forget about the hate speech for a moment, as even Buhari uses hate speech and actions. Have the things that caused the Biafra war still there today? I assure you once you start working in the direction of ensuring there is equity, fairness and justice...the hate speech and Biafra agitation will die a slow death. Hoping the agitation has crossed the rubicon, though.

You would be wasting your time, trying to stop hate speech while the issues lingers.

What is so funny is that people think that if assuming Nigeria has a second civil war and biafra loses biafra will still be a part of Nigeria. The stupidity exhibited by Nigerians is stunning.

That's the problem! So he sneaked into DAN? Your curt and abusive response has really shown the Nigerianess in you. I detest ethnic bigotry even though I'm occasionally found wanting myself but guy you lack what it takes to propagate a good agenda you yourself created. Ethnic bigotry starts from intolerance which you have displayed here. Pls whoever added my moniker there should expunge it quickly before you accuse me too of sneaking in.

All countries have that problem, including UK and US. Biafra will also have that problem. Someone will always feel marginalized. It is a problem you keep working on - the answer is not secession. After the war Igbos were more than marginalized and openly discriminated against. That didn't stop them from quickly becoming the visibly richest.

Referendum is not a call to war.

I support
restructuring and true federalism , but it's unfortunate the ruling class will never hear of it for reasons best known to them. Therefore, the country can keep running around in circles while the ruling class continue to amass wealth for their unborn children at the expense of the majority!

Lagos pay huge amounts in IGR to the federal purse from VAT in alcohol consumption. This VAT is shared among 36 states as part of federal allocation and a state like Kano will use part of theirs to fund their hisbah police who in turn arrest, jail or kill those found selling alcohol in their state.

Too many things on the exclusive list of FG, if today you find stone in your father's compound, you must get express permission from Abuja before you can mine it. And then it will depend on who you know before granting you permission to touch it, you could also be expressly denied access to touch it and before you know it, one company fronting for a certain politician somewhere will start deploying equipments to the site to mine it!
