Arabic Schooling In A Year, Not In Local Modrasas (ilekeu) - Need Advice! by HAkorehdeh(m): 12:33am On Sep 09, 2017
I stopped attending Arabic school in 2013 after I gained admission into a university, then I was in awwal thanawiyy (SS1).

I will be graduating from the university this year (in sha Allah) so I'm thinking of sparing a year to complete my Arabic schooling (before my masters degree).

I don't want to attend any local modrasa (ilekeu) cuz of the delay it might cause (having to complete the classes) plus their overall system (like caining etc) which I don't think I can still stand (never!) .

All I wanna learn is arabic; how to speak fluently and be able to translate any arabic word. I also wanna learn some important arabic courses like "aruud, balaaqho and inshaaro" - my nahw and sarf are still fair. I'd be reading those important books myself at my own convenience.

So I'm thinking, could there be a way? whether in Nigeria or abroad (scholarship or cheap fees), Anyway to learn Arabic intensively within a year?

Note: At present, I can translate well too but it's still very fair to the standard I desire.

I'll really appreciate your suggestions and advice. If this can enter frontpage too, it'd be really nice and appreciated!

Assalamu alaikum Brother,

Learning Arabic is something every Muslim should seek to achieve as it eases understanding of the word of Allah. Alhamdullilah who is guiding you to want to continue learning.

Seeking to learn Arabic as a language in Nigeria would be dependent on your location.

I know of Lekki Muslim Ummah (LEMU) which is located in Lekki. They do intensive Arabic class.
There is also one located in Falomo.

Another option which will require high level of commitment and discipline is to get an Ustaz to teach you at your convenient time.

At present, our call-up letter is not out yet, so I don't even know where I'd be posted to (NYSC) but I live in Lagos tho at a place very far from Lekki.
