Moving Image Limited sponsored by Kano State Censors’ Board organizes a workshop on camera, lights and sound, directing, acting and production management. The workshop will be conducted in three sessions of two weeks duration workshop for each group with 75 participants per group. The total participants shall be 450 in the course of six weeks.
SCHEDULE
I. First series of workshops September 25th to Oct 6th, 2017
II. Second series of workshops October 16th to 27th, 2017
III. Third series of workshops November 6th to 17th, 2017
COURSE CONTENT
Please read the following details on the six courses available and choose what you want to be considered for. You are only to apply for one slot. Thank you.
Camera, Lights & Sound Course:
This course is about training in the techniques of camera and lighting for film and television (aesthetics of Cinematography). It is to expose participants to special effects, photography, night exteriors, dollies, smoke machines and rain etc.
Script writing: This course is about learning the techniques of writing for special genres, character, story and dialogue development. Participants will rehearse, perform and evaluate scenes (they will produce a ten- minute screen play).
Acting: This course is about learning the basic skills in acting for the camera.
Film Directing Course: The course is on technical and aesthetic principles of directing. It teaches the approaches and processes of directing; comprising visual interpretation of the script, script breakdown, casting visualization and working with actors. It also, advances understanding of the concept of MIS-EN-SCENE, shot composition, camera angles etc.
Production Management Course: This course advances the knowledge of ‘Script-to-Screen’ production processes to be facilitated by a practicing professional. All the stages of production from Scripting, Production, Budgeting, Auditioning, Casting and Post-production are to be experienced by the participants.
Editing Course: Participants will be exposed to digital cinema editing, a creation of special effects through the use of miniature sets, stunts. Advance makeup for special effects.
