5 Logical And Effective Ways To Avoid Bigotry Activities On Nairaland by Boyooosa(m): 4:00pm On Sep 17, 2017
Thinking that we can always get better with ourselves and the influence our environment has on us, I am of the opinion that the followings can help us to reduce or probably eliminate the act of bigotry or tribal e-war. Explore:
1. Have it at the back of your mind that even Seun can not arrest you if you don't comment on a post. So, try hard not to be offensive if you must comment.
2. Anytime you MUST send in a comment/post, be aware that 'Mentions and Likes' don't add value to your physical life but only gives you a temporary joy or e-morale; don't get desperate to get one.
3. Before you mention or reply a fellow NLer, ask yourself this question: How do I feel if am addressed this way? Either you are right or wrong...
4. The other person behind the keyboard is also human being like you: ask yourself again before typing, that, can I talk to this person like this if I meet him one on one?
5. Finally, the most effective way to avoid 'Necessary Bigotry' or even tribalism is by crossing your mind that you will not do it online nor anywhere. We all know when we do the wrong things.
Even me as I (speak) type, am guilty of some of these things written here but the best any man could do for himself is to improve himself and strive to add value to life.
As I know that strict adherence to all the aforementioned will drop traffick on NL, I also enjoin us not to mistake humour for disdain.
Your contribution will add value to the post. Safe!
