Forget about it. It is a myth no better than the Yoruba myth that someone came down from the sky with a cockerel and a bag of sand to create teh world

@Poster,

There was no such thing as forbidden fruit, rather "tree of the knowledge of good and evil"

Gen 2.:

16 And the LORD God commanded the man, "You are free to eat from any tree in the garden;

17 but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die." NIV

By eating the fruit they had knowledge to discern what was good and bad, inotherwords Man began to think like God, in hebrew it is called "da±at" meaning moral cognition.

Lorddozzy:

are you calling the bible a myth?

^^^ Not entirely. Some parts of it are proven historical.

But stories about gardens and serpents and forbidden fruits are not to be taken as history.

I have often said on this forum that it must a a spiritual account which did not transpire upon this earth.

But on further reflection ask yourself if at all that myth is of any relevance to your life today? ? ? ? ?

Wwhy do you subscribe to the myths, fantasies and legends of a foreign tribe?

i don't know why we are suddenly discussing if the Bible is a myth! The poster would only like to know what sort of fruit Eve ate and also gave to Adam. Perhaps he would like to know this so that he can avoid it himself grin

@ poster, i think it is pear! cheesy
