Pidgin had been the language of trade in West Africa before slavery, when white people came here for genuine trade. At that time, white people spoke Pidgin as much as we do. Its just that we were conquered and they imposed their language on us, that's the reason they no longer speak Pidgin. If slavery didn't happen, if colonialism didn't happen, you would actually have many white people speaking Pidgin across the world. 2 Likes 1 Share |
