He was not impeached. This is his 3rd time in the Senate. If he were impeached, he won't make it to the Senate. He was smart and outwitted his rivals by resigning when he got wind of the impeachment plot.

My choice of words were deliberate because it brings to bear why he simply cannot be a unifying factor even in his home state.

Constituency doesn't only describe your Senate area.

His constituency while he was deputy governor was the entire state, particularly his state house which moved for his impeachment.

In Nigeria, Deputy Governors are underdogs. I can bet you do not know the name of your state deputy governor because he doesn't wield any influence in the politics of your state.

He was not the speaker of the state house but a deputy governor who was at the mercy of his governor. All he needed to retain his seat was to remain dumb and worship OUK and his mother (which was pervasive among Abia politicians at the time) but being who he is, Enyi Abia, he bolted out of the suffocating influence.

For the umpteenth time, he was not impeached! Except you need to be schooled on the implications of impeachment to one's political career.
