Why do Nigerians practice a religion that was brought by Arab swordsmen Forcibly;

Islam was brought to the whole of Northern and Eastern Africa by force, when the Arab Swordsmen came they brought scribes and booklets with them, they taught the religion to the people then they left. But upon their return they found out that the religion wasn't thriving as they had expected it would, they tortured people, young and Old that couldn't recite the Koran. The swordsmen also brought about new rules; Stricter Ones. Christianity on the other hand was brought to Africa by Devout missionaries, that preached the word of God, they taught the people and the people were allowed to decide for themselves what they wanted, they came with weapons but not to use on the people but to protect themselves from pirates and Dessert Slayers. Muslims are always quick to denounce Islam as a violent religion, but how can it not be a violent religion, if it was founded in Arabia with Violence, brought to Africa with Violence and is taught today by Extremists who encourage violence. Christianity has had it's share of violence, but this violence was not relenquished onto the people that they wished to convert.

Why do Nigerians continue to practice a religion that was brought to them by people who had little regard for their right of opinion.

THERE'S LITTLE OR NO DIFFERENCE between the colonisation of the African mind either via Islam, or via Christianity.

They're both just as bad as each other.

Christianity has been in Africa since the Ist century producing 3 Catholic Popes and theologians like St Augustine

For God's sake ,we have Had Christianity in the continent long before Islam came into existence

Your reference is faulty,I believe the European missionaries that introduced the religion,introduced it to regions that haden't yet being taken up by Islam, so how could christianoty exist in Sub saharan Africa longer.It probably existed in Ethiopialong before Islam. But I believe Islam was introduced to Nigeria first
