all the whole pastors who own churches are thiefs. Why should they profit from the gospel? Did Jesus profit from the gospel? Did his 12 disciples do? Hell no, instead a lot of them made financial sacrifices for the gospel. What we have today are band of rogues who masks as pastors fleecing their members every piece of cash on them while they go on building mansions, running businesses, and flying private jets carrying security up and down like they are head of states 2 Likes |

Charly68: Do you read the bible, if you do, kindly check the history of the early church. Everyone shared all they got. They practiced what we call communal living. Not pastor living like a god, while members live in penury. |

admax: Your ignorance is stinking: what do you know about Baptist and its administration before spewing your fallacy? Oh I forgot, you think Pastor owns any churches and he can dictate without any checks and balances in Baptist. How many Baptist Pastors have you seen been autocratic in the church he is ruling? As one of the members of Church Council at the age of 18, the rule here says that any penny that must be spent by Pastor must be approved by Council which comprises of representatives from each societies, departments or Units in the church: how have they gone wrong? Even the National level has no power to dictate who they should hire as their respective Pastors. Go and find out more about Baptist, it is then you will realize that it is one of the most democratic religious institutions that ever existed. 1 Like |

Olujava: Take it or leave it, Baptist is one of those churches imbibed with thorough checks and balances. Baptist is not a one man business where any Pastor dictates when it come to finance without any ratification by Church Council which must be accountable to members on quarterly basis. Get it right |

[[s]quote author=Charly68 post=61072851]This is as a result of lack of good teaching in the church ,why would church members turned themselves to God by sending out their pastor from their parish ..they have brought a curse on themselves through their action..why not leave him to God and let him judge him by himself ..
[/s] Baptist is different from Redeem: nobody hired/sent Pastors to them. Indigenous churches hires their Pastors by themselves and all intending expenses must be deliberated and approved by the Council before further action. All branches controls their financial activities without undue interference from the top. Get it right. |

hokafor: U think Baptist have time for all those rubbish? Any Pastor that misbehaves financially is gone cos all churches decides their activities at local level and they are accountable to local members |

Decisions must be well deliberated and articulated by the Council or Conference before being adopted. There is no room for "daddy say , Papa say" in Baptist. |

benedictnnoli: I would have agreed with you and Tribune if I was not there on Sunday. Yeah the Church was locked but much of the reason that you read in the papers like someone earlier said is only a tiny little part of the whole thing. Abeg, don't judge anyone until you've heard their side of the story for yourself. You know paper must sell and it's news like this that sells paper. |

Here are my findings from all I have read 1. Baptist pastors are not to be millionaires 2. The baptist pastors' account details are for public use 3. A baptist pastors shouldn't serve more than 15 years Yet we work in a place for 35+ years These men put in time and should be rewarded, the baptist need a form of transfer system for their pastors. A unique payment system should be made for them. Say basic should be same and some percentage off the church as encouragement. Members of this church should let the pastor be, he would soon leave on his own. These men talking about the school did not support it in any way when it started. |

These "concerned" people are big liars. They're perpetual liars. All these allegations against the pastor are lies. The simple truth is they're a cabal, and they want the reverend gone at all cost. So they've woven so many lies just to bring him down. But the real church members know the truth and are adamant that pastor must stay. These "concerned" people are not up to 25, in a congregation of about 500. These "concerned" people are the ones who locked the gates before the service started on Sunday. To avoid violence, the majority of the church members decided not to break the locks, but to hold the service outside the church premises. The picture above shows a majority of the congregation outside going on with the church service. Moreover, the Baptist setting has its own constitution in settling disputes...they've refused to follow due process because they know there's no way they will win. It's really a sad case, because a handful of members are holding an entire church at ransom...it's really sad. |
