TOPIC: THE WINNING TEAM
BIBLE READING: JUDGES 7:4-5
MEMORISE: But the LORD said to Gideon, "The people are still too many; bring them down to the water, and I will test them for you there. Then it will be, that of whom I say to you, 'This one shall go with you,' the same shall go with you; and of whomever I say to you, 'This one shall not go with you,' the same shall not go." (Judges 7:4)

Shiv Khera in his best seller, "You can Win" pointed out the difference between the best side and the worst team. He said, "There would be very little difference in the players' physique, talent and ability. The biggest difference is an emotional difference". Take Gideon's winning team for instance, the battle he could not conquer with 32,000 men, he won with only 300 soldiers. There are moral lessons here: (1) Not all men are real men. Gideon would have recorded 22,000 casualties in the first instance, because nothing kills more than fear. Not all his men were battle-ready and the difference between the men and the soldiers is battle- readiness. How prepared are you to face the inevitable challenges of life? 10,000 men were fearless, yet it takes more than that to win. Then, what is the winning strategy? Readiness and preparedness. Only 300 men were battle ready. The implication is that Israel would have recorded 31,700 casualties, if God had not intervened. That would have been a very huge loss. The number, physique, talent, ability and so on, do not necessarily make the winning team. What makes the winning team is the disposition, character in terms of how ready, prepared, willing to win and take glory the team is.
Here is the motivation of one of the world best athletes, "Winning the trophy" As a believer, your motivation should be to win the prize. Do you know why Jesus could not be stopped? He was focused upon winning at all cost, for God (Heb. 12:2,3). Winners don't have time for frivolities (civilian pursuit according to 2 Tim. 2:4), but their heart beat for the commencement of the battle or contest they had already won on the inside. They don't contest, not to lose because that is as good as losing already. Jesus' team is the ever winning team. Join the winning team today.

PRAYER POINTS:
1. No defeat for me; in Jesus' name; I am a winner.
2. Every spirit of failure, lose your hold on the life of as many as are suffering from under your power, in Jesus' name.
3. Our nation shall win the war against corruption, injustice, crime and all other vices, in Jesus' name.
