One thing I know is that injustice to one is injustice to all. It is on record that this administration prides itself in the fight against corruption. It is also on record that the inferno from this war against corruption has brought some judges and some notable members of the main opposition party to their knees. Some of them were asked to step aside to enable the agencies of government carry out investigation without encumbrances.

In the light of already set precedence , it only fair that President Buhari steps aside as the Minister of Petroleum. There are already allegations in public space that the said contracts awarded without due process may have been directed at efforts to amass funds for the President bid for second term in office.

For those who argue that there is difference between the renewal of contracts and actual embezzlement of money, they should know that the issue here is romantic relationship with corruption. Alas, there is actual embezzlement of our common wealth.

The Minister of Petroleum should be sincere to Nigerians and simply resign until investigations are concluded.

The call is for him to resign as Minister of Petroleum, not as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
