The Zambia Football Association President, Andrew Kamanga, has said they will not be appealing the first-half goal that was disallowed, when they lost 1-0 to Nigeria last Saturday, in a 2018 World Cup qualifier.

Recall that Senegal successfully had their appeal against poor officiating in their game against South Africa granted by FIFA and a replay has been ordered. But Zambia has decided not to toe that part. Nigeria went on the win the match with a lone goal and became the first African country to qualify for Russia 2018 world cup.

Kamanga admits they studied all possible routes to appeal the goal, which was scored by Augustine Mulenga, but later found no substance to appeal the goal which was they claim was ruled out for offside wrongly.

According to him, Article 15.6 of the FIFA rules says decision made‎ by the referee is final and can only be appealed if there is evidence of external influence, which wasn’t the case in the game against Nigeria.

“The rules being what they are cannot overturn the decision of the referee. The only basis is when there was external influence. So the referee maybe carpeted for making a wrong decision but the decision still stands and unfortunately that is where we stand,” he said in an interview with the press in Zambia.

It reminds me of the hand-ball Thierry henry scored for France against Ireland to qualify for the world cup! Ireland prostested, but FIFA refused to rescind the ref's decision....

The real reason is that; in football, ojoro is allowed, but do not allow thyself to be caught.
That Suarez's handball against Ghana says it all tongue

One man's meat is another's poison. The game was good for Nigerians and bad for the Zambians. Just sorry for the striker who lost his daughter.

It was a good idea not to appeal the goal because I don't think you have enough fund to take all players to Russia. Just saying.

To be honest i watched the clip again and the guy was in an off-side position. also, the whistle was blown even before the ball reached him. He ignored and went ahead to shot and put the ball in the net.. so, its wasn't even a goal, however he was clearly in an off-side position.

Even if it's counted as a goal, to qualify, Zambia will have to beat Cameroon by a 4-goal margin and Nigeria will have to lose in Algeria right here in Nigeria.

Too many difficult variables required in the equation.

Re: Why We Won’t Appeal Disallowed Goal Against Nigeria – Zambia FA by Ayibaba1: 2:54pm On Oct 10, 2017
The simple fact is that the goal was offside and nothing more. The goal scorer was outside the line and ahead of every other players before the ball was passed to him.
